E72 or E52? I know them both well but who can help decide?

I'm thinking this phone does everything I want it to, and a lot more besides. However, couple of things I wouldn't mind knowing before I jump in and get it...
a) Might seem trivial on a phone like this, but does it do smilies in messages? A friend has an E71 and it doesn't on hers.
b) How much does it cost for the OVI maps? I think it's included free on the 6720 classic, so if a lot more to get it on E52 then might look at 6720 instead.
Cheers...

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2009I've been waiting a long time for GSMArena review on E52. ... moreWhen I bought the phone I did not charge it for 3 days... that means battery out of the box... I used it for Internet, Youtube, Facebook, Email, Calls and Text messaging. I even played around with it since its a new phone... I think 3 days without charging is pretty long thinking that it came right out of the box... I recently charged it now and its full bar... lets see how long will it take..

Im from the Philippines and I just bought one this week. I used to have an HTC Touch and it was the worst phone ever... After using the E52 for a couple of days, I think I've got the best business phone so far in my hand. (Based on a non-touch screen, non-sliding or fliptop phone.) Email, Wifi, Internet, 3.5G, GPS, Apps and its sleek lightweight built really makes this phone one of the best. E for Excellent...

I've been waiting a long time for GSMArena review on E52.
It turns out that the review doesn't have enough coverage on one factor that turns my attention to this phone : battery life.
This review has extensive coverage on sound, camera and other features, but not on battery life. There are many charts, tables, figures and pictures but not for battery life.
There's only one paragraph that stated "the Nokia E52 is said to last 672 hours of stand-by or 8 hours of talk time and that's more than impressive. We can confirm more than three days of some really heavy usage and there's hardly a contemporary smartphone outside the Eseries that can pull that of"
But where's the comparison chart or something to other phones? Even the preview of E52/E55 has more info on battery life - said something like 14 hours with gps on in comparison to less than 4 hours on other phones.
Ok, 672 hours is a long time - i'm not sure if the reviewer would want to wait that long. I know I won't.
But what is the meaning of "some really heavy usage" ?
How long the battery last with gps on?

This phone will be the most sold phone due to it's GREAT size/weight/batery-life.
This is the best phone with this small form factor from nokia that I ever touched. Congratulation nokia.

After the BEST professional and smallest phone ever from Nokia (E51) this is the true successor! Congratulations Nokia.

I just wasted 320 dollars on this phone and by god this was a mere dissappointment. The quality of this phone is cheap and after using e71 I am feeling like I am a complete idiot. I advice everyone to actually hold the device in hand and see it working. Before buying it. Don't buy it online out of excitement.

of course you guys can get it really cheap if you buy it along with a mobile plan..
but the contract will last you about 1 or 2 years for that though.. still fer me id go for the 5630 for all the nice features.. too bad that the e52 has a better build than the plasticky 5630. hopefully they create a hybrid of the mx and Eseries.. get all the features of the MX and put it in a build of an Eseries.. that'll last you maybe 5 or more years @_@
we guys need a durable MX model @_@

I would like to know how the call volume is when using the wired headset. I had the E51 for a week, but returned it due to low volume, tried another one, same thing. I hope the Nok-boys changed out the audio amp in this design.

I liked the review mentioning the audio quality. It appears to be very good. I'd like to hear comments of anyone using this phone as a media player with high-end headphones connected to that 3.5mm jack...
(And listening to lossless formats like WAV or Flac)

Metal grey, seems like the fine people here at GSMArena were eager to please us readers by chunking out a great review, but by doing so mentioning the wrong color version which they got their hands on.
