bummy, 27 Oct 2009Actually , Xvid DivX out of the box is hardly releavent in ... moreMedia Go is a piece a Sh**!
It does NOT convert video (well) and takes a LONG term in conversion IF it works! Then it also takes a LONG time in transferring it to the phone!
Sony can NOT make decent media software for their hardware products to save the company!!

simsthlm, 29 Oct 2009Hi guys!
Ok, this is how it is. I've used my Satio alot,... moreOK, so we have an obvious fan of SE pretending to make a "fair" review of their latest product?:) And "sthlm" probably stands for Stockholm, home of SE?
I appreciate the effort to share your impressions about the phone, but from the way you present even the phone's drawbacks (lack of sound equaliser etc) as advantages it is obvious that you are not impartial in your comments. Well, the fact that you bought one for yourself should give it away:)
So, I don't mind if you love your Satio, but there's no basis to take your comments as a fair assessment of it.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2009Ok, just had my Satio for a day after resigning my LG Viewt... moreHi guys!
Ok, this is how it is. I've used my Satio alot, everyday for the last week. Most of you who make comments here have obviously not tried Satio first hand and base your comments on reviews. I've worked half my life as a tester of mobile phones. Do I need to mention that I change phone alot? ;) for private use it's been Iphone, HTC diamond, N95, N95 8mb, Iphone 3G, e73, c905, Hero and now Satio
The Camera:
It's a delight, I'm totally blown away!
Satios cam really IS the best "mobile phone camera" out there atm.
You have to look beyond the 12mp, it's so much more. I could go on forever about this but in short.. It's faster, funnier and more functional, with amazing result. The IS, color depth, flash (both xenon and led), auto focus, smile rec are simply better in this phone.
The Battery:
I've used mine for 2 days now without recharging it. But the battery is low now and I probably have to charge it soon. Obviously it depends on how you use your phone. Beacuse it's a new phone I've explored alot of different features, surfing the web, sent alot of text messages, syncronized contacts, connect it to my playstation 3 over the internet, used it as a business phone and made alot of calls, taken a bounch of photos and editing them in picasa. Facebooked and youtubed (of course you can watch youtube in full screen!) . I haven't tried out the GPS yet though, so I have nothing to say about that.
Stability:
The phones actually freezed once, but this is something I'm very used to as I install alot of programs, not fully compatible. Only freezing once is actually a over all good grade :P
The phone is really fast, even though I've got alot different apps going at the same time. You still navigate extraordinary quick through the menues.
Quality:
Exterior/ It feels robust and screams quality! The taste is of course in the eye of the beholder, but I do love the design. It both looks and feels luxurious. I have the one in shiny piano black and chrome on the sides. Interior/ Sound quality is great, for someone who doesn’t know how to perfect sound through equalizers and doesn’t normally touch them, Satio will be the best thing they will even listen to. Boosting high frequencies give the sound extra clarity while lowered low ones reduce the bass. The UI is also the best S60v5 I've tried so far. The touch screen is precise and sensitive (you can configure it as you perfer). It's actually a joy to work with even if you're using gloves.
Storage:
I love that SE changed from m2 to micro SD (up to 32GB!) http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sandisk-microsd-card-32gb-p20431.htm
Thats plenty of room for video and mp3. Talking about video.. DivX or XviD support out-of-the-box is great (I think Real Player is standard and it really sucks), you can be easily install a bounch of free softwares. Took me about 5 minutes to download and install a good one.
well.. this is getting way too much text.. Anyway, If you are thinking of getting a Satio. Just do it! I couldn't be more happy with mine!

i agree with you that satio is much miore than this review and this is only left to the final user to decide and not to the internet sites

fayez, 27 Oct 2009Xenon flash is not adequately powerful
VGA@30fps video is ... moreThe thing is that the so called ‘reading’ is the actual quality. The frequencies they’ve mentioned is hardware equalisation. This can be changed as time goes, by both firmware update and/or adding an equaliser
Qualitywise, Satio really is excellent, and for someone who doesn’t bother/know much about equalizers and doesn’t normally touch them, Satio will be the best thing they will even listen to. Boosting high frequencies give the sound extra clarity while lowered low ones reduce the bass. I guess this is adjusted to HPM-77 headset, as they have a little too strong bass and not clear enough highs.
Anyway, I am perfectly happy with Satio sound quality, and I think I am a reliable source of information when it comes to music, as music is VERY important part of my life… definitely much more than photography
Also, I think GSMarena is a bit unprofessional this time.. especially on the first page when they list Satio disadvantages… For example…No office document editing. What?! If it wasn’t there at all (Office reader) they wouldn’t mention it… SE didn’t particularly advertise Office mobile, so what’s their problem?
No DivX or XviD support out-of-the-box ??!! So? Can be easily changed with instlation of software. Competition has nothing more than Real player! How can that be a disadvantage? C’mon, how long does it take to install a program on Symbian? It would be the same if they would complain that MicroSD was in the box, rather than in the Satio (it was in the Satio, I was jsut trying to give an example).
Or the complain about flash… Damn… Nokias and Samsung only have LEDs.. Satio beats them by a huge margin… AND it's the best in it’s class, so what to complain about? perhaps they should complain about noise levels not matching DSLRs?
And complaining about UI is just ridiculous.. I’d say it’s a crime. SE has developed the best S60v5 UI so far… It’s the thing that amazed me about Satio the most…
Finally, No digital compass. No comment really…. How can such a thing be disadvantage? Perhaps they should add that Satio doesn’t have w900i type keyboard??!! Is compass a standard (or even useful!) feature?
The rest of their complains are FAIRLY reasonable…
ANd I won’t forgive them saying that Pixon12 is better (even by a small margin) as everyone knows it’s not! Are these oversaturated colours supposed to be it’s advantage??!! If someone really wants something look unnatural, he/she can always edit it on a PC.
I am very disappointed with GSMarena to be honest, i considered the as a reliable source of information until now.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2009Ok, just had my Satio for a day after resigning my LG Viewt... moreViewty didn't have USB nor does it have 3.5mm headphone jack.
So you should be used to it by now :o?
Ontop of that, Viewty is also victim of poor battery performance :/
Not to mention horrible texting. I have to slow down to 1 key per second for it to register the input properly.
