Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 review: Another one in

29 January 2010
It was back in February 2008 that the XPERIA lineup was born and it took Sony Ericsson almost two years to bring about the XPERIA X1 successor. The long waiting is over now and the XPERIA X2 is keen to prove to us all it was...

Well, I think the review is fair enough, everything is true and truth hurts when you are expecting more to certain thing and not getting what you expected. I think this the payment of delaying the release of X2-outdated. This only means that SE is not trying hard enough to come up with killer product.

I do not like SE mainly because of m2 cards (3 x more expensive than micro sd) and the fastport instead of 3.5mm audio jacks. The X2 has a lot going for it especially the 8mp camera. The reason why smart phones omit the FM radio is beyond me.
My personal opinion is no FM radio = no buy.

GsmArena seems so biased in their reviews.Nokia phones are always the best even with their crappy OS.
why should we bother reading them?
i liked you before GsmArena but being biased is not a good quality for reviewing.
i should try to quit checking your site daily......

Ok I'll admit the X2 has it's own flaws and issues. Yet, Gsmarena was so mean and bias in this review. The thing that I hate about Gsmarena is that although they are very good in what they do, when it comes to reviewing they just can't be professional.

It's like a kid that hates a toy and keep saying over and over again I hate it, I hate it. Grow up Gsmarena. Ok we got it the cpu is outdated no need to repeat the thing over and over again.

Also, there are many mobiles that have similar cpu's but you never said about them outdated. Moreover, you said that one of the disadvantages is the lack of a xenon flash? Who are you kidding here? Is there any wm phone that has a xenon flash lol. At Least the X2 has a 8 mgpxl camera and that's something new for a wm handset.

To sum up, Please try to be more objective and don't let your emotions control you all the time. Unless, you want your fans to lose faith in you and in your own opinions.

Still love you and I hope to see more improvements in the future.

              Cheers!

Feels pity for the SE and the product itself, the X2. It's like, much has been demanded on the product even though they won't buy it.
By looking at the whole thought of this review will make you think that X2 is really crap as if there were no any other new features equipped. And maybe I'm wrong with this but it says here that the camera can outclass even the topnotch cybershot phone, maybe it's true but the negative feedback goes to SE itself. It is still better to look for other reviews or other people's thought about the product because sometimes, it still depends on the reviewer.

in all honesty here, i love the look of the phone. black with the silver keyboard would be the way to go for me.

unfortunately i hate the internals. i basically want to rip out the cpu, ram, and storage and replace it with something better. i mean a year and a half later and they decide to use the same cpu. additionally the competition manage to pack 8 to 32gb into the but somehow sony only manages 110mb. finally, 256mb ram (in combination with the 528mhz cpu) is one of the main reasons for a lack a 'smoothness' in the original device, but they decide to carry it on in the sequel.

overall it just looks like the X1 was a (decent) pre-release product where this X2 is their final release version having 'smoothed' a few things out with the pre-release.

we cant blame Gsmarena that it has suck evaluation for X2
to make our opinion we have to look to other sites and see the reviews and comments .and then make an opinion .
Sony Ericsson X2 will prove itself on the long run and time will be the best judge .
In engineering you cant judge a product even after many tests , you have to see it used by the purchaser and by time it will prove its worthiness.
myself I stop purchasing any new mobiles at the time of its release , i wait at least 4 to 6 months to see how its performing with the remaining public ,,,

The n97, X6, and all nokia symbian phones only has 434mhz yet GSMarena doesn't call it outdated at all! That is just so lame of them!

samsung Omnia PRO B7610 has a single speaker but the sound is louder than X2.
B7160 records d1 but the quality is better.
and has more powerfull cpu and larger screen with AMOLED.
and the touch is more sensitive.
even the audio quality is far better.
                          however its cheaper.

The main sticking point isn't "it's crap". The main stinking issues about X2 is "it's a very expensive crap". Pull it down to 300ish and look for a 250-280 price in 6 months and it may be a good deal. But >450?

This phone seems to be completely pointless, it has nothing over the competition, poor SE.
                                  Let's hope the X10 is better or else I'll buy a N900.

"So, what's the point in releasing the XPERIA X2? Its hardware, put next to the competition, seemed outdated even back in September 2009 when the phone first saw daylight. And now, a few months later, when it is hitting the shelves, things look even worse."

Well said! That's what all the wise people have been saying for the past couple of months. SE is shooting themselves in the foot or maybe that's all they've got? If that's the case, *sigh* they're dead!
