Google Nexus One review: Firstborn

26 February 2010
All droids are equal but some droids are more equal than others. Google it. You’ll get the Nexus One. There are around 50 smartphones and tablets running Android today. That’s right, out of all the offspring they fathered with the Open Handset Alliance...

z, 06 Mar 2010who needs a radio when we got a freaken internet."Excellent" response! Ever think that some of us actually use the radio feature in the office as a radio, as for the internet, how about if company policies dictates all streaming media is blocked, so you cannot use the internet... Next time think further than your nose.

The screen is amazing compared to the iphone. Its like comparing high def to a regular tv. The colors are vibrant, and just downright amazing.

Divx player is not a problem. Just install YXflash player. Also Dolphin web browser supports flash, so after all that this makes it the best phone ever. Overall I installed around 20-25 very useful applications. I`ve had it for 3 weeks now. Oh, and remember to install 2G/3G switcher to preserve batter life on a daily usage.

Before had: SE experia X1, Samsung Omnia, omnia HD.

"- No sync with your local outlook - had to take 3 precious hours to find how to convert, convert and fix all contacts information."

You don't to actually sync Outlook contacts to the phone. All you ever need to so is sync them to Google Apps, GMail, Calendar or Contacts. Once your contacts are in Google---you can access them via GMail account, all you need is login to the phone using your Gmail account, and all your contacts will be synced to the phone automatically.

Once contacts are with Google, you can say bye bye to Outlook, because with Google Sync, you can wireless live and push sync them to any phone besides Android, including Nokia, iPhone and Blackberry. Its so much better than Outlook, because if you upload a change on your contacts via browser or anyone of these phones, all the other phones will reflect that change. Why Google Sync rules if you own more than one phone, even with different platforms.

D-Day, 27 Feb 2010I was the proud owner of the Nokia N900. Got it as replace ... moreLike you, I also refused to take an iPhone because of it's popularity. So I took HTC Hero instead. Boy am I regreted? There are a lot of features that I felt incomplete or can do better. I felt that the developer never actually use their own designed OS. If they did, they would see the incovinient in it. For example, select and copy text in browser. Android had user select manually while with iPhone you simply hold the text area, the system will automaticlly hightlight one word or whole sentence depending on your selection. That just one example of many fructrusted I had felt when using an android phone. I'm no apple fan boy, but in the past few month when I used HTC hero I felt unsatisfied. With iPhone, I no longer felt the need to look for new phone in the market because it cater to my need.

who would need a FM radio.. unless your a kid that has too much time on hand to listen to the radio. Aside from that, in the working class, people don't have time for these stupid little things.....
