09 March 2010
Luxury phones are having a tough time being unique nowadays. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness is having a hard time being… luxurious. But that’s no way to start a proper review now, is it? There we go again then...

bummy, 11 Mar 2010You haters still don't get it... The idea of Pureness is... moreBummy,

You cannot compare supercars with the SE Pureness; they just don't fall into the same league. Yes, car companies spend money--and significantly so--on designing and building supercars, and they're available for the elite few, too, but for the high price they charge you to own one, they give you a performance that OUTCLASSES your average car; they give you technology that OUTCLASSES your average car. Comparatively, SE does the opposite--it charges a hefty sum for the Pureness, when it's got nothing to justify the price tag.

Starting from their MP3. Remember this, its colour screen and not B&W.

I have been using this handset for a little under a month now, absolutely love it, okay it doesn't have an amazing camera - or for A camera for that matter. But, that's not what this is all about, its a concept, and once you get your head round that, it offers you the core functionality of a mobile phone! Plus, it's a great talking point!

I like SE phones but this I would not buy its a great idea but its not revolutionary if they had probably bigger screen with lively colors and it was touch sensitive, then I'd say we're getting somewhere.

He said this "If the screen resolution is 176x220 how come that the screenshots are 240x320 ?". Furthermore, from March 10 when I wrote the reply, to March 11 when I wrote _this_, GSMarena modified the review and replaced the 240x320 screenshots (I have the full page saved for my entertainment) to 120x160. GSMarena, are the screenshots real or are they just a reproduction as to show the readers what's with the screen ? GSMarena, you cannot leave this unanswered, because we already have saved webpage and there is Wayback Machine :P

SE have made this phone to show the world future technologies not to sell it!(only 1800 units of this phone is availble)
MOTO made the first mobile phone that was very simple but this makes that now we have smart phones
so maybe in 2015 world thanks to SE because of making the first transparent phone

Overexpensive, overhyped phone with nice, cool (and also counter-productive) touch-screen interface to show-off, and I should choose apple instead. The man who wants to get a luxury phone should go to http://www.sourcinggate.com/luxury-phone-c-193.html.

The idea of Pureness is same as why Car companies spends alot of money on super cars. Its R&D as well as branding. Its not made to be affordable-- its made to tease the world.

Sony Ericsson should concentrate on what led to its initial success. Namely innovation and leveraging Sony's expertise in the multimedia arena and incorporating this into mobile devices such as the camera module on the K800i and the music user interface for the W910i. This device, regrettably for the company will not sell well given the price tag, feature set, and surprisingly according to this review, its below par build quality, unlike some of its more mainstream devices such as the C905i. A high end device must look and behave high end. Transparent screens will not be a motivating factor for purchasing a 600 euro device. This is an error in an otherwise improved strategy by Sony Ericssson in recent months to gain more market share after some difficulties in 2008. Many of us wish the company well.

                                  Another "winner" from SE...LOL

What is your story SE?...are you guys having teenagers design & build your mobiles these days?

I would love for nothing more than to drop almost a thousand bucks on a piece of crap plastic, "luxury" phone, with a 1.8in display, & no features.

I would've said that after your issues with your high-end mobiles, you couldn't go any lower, but you just proved me wrong with this catastrophe.

This is Pureness all right...pure sh!t..

This phone does not have a 3.5mm jack. And in my book, no 3.5mm jack no buy, end of story. Rather buy a bottom of the line Nokia with a 3.5mm jack send it to Continental to bling it up a little, and then use your very expensive earphones to listen to some music.
