I would be highly curious to see how the preferences have been since the "blind" was removed. It would give a great measure of the the "FanBoy" bias towards Nokia in gsmarena's blogs. Bias = (Unhidden - Blind)/Blind ...
I would like a careful evalution of camera performance in social situations where it's most likely to be used.

All are always commenting how much better android is compared to symbian. Well you know what the "old" syymbian offers that lots of good androids do not and I am dissapointed with it because I would like to buy a new HTC but none of them ha's videocalls. Why none of HTC has videocalls. Or then I should go to Samsng(android with videocalls). But why not HTC??

I have Nokia 5630 right now and thinking of buying new phone. I like N8 very much for its design and camera and in general also. But I'm also considering an android phone, because it is more and more popular and that's why I assume it is good. Can I compare android with symbian for the available programs? Will I miss much if I buy N8 instead of android if I take into consideration available software?

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2010lol....haters strikes back
if only N8 was placed 3rd, th... moreexactly, they need to thank god for all the diversity of technology we have in our days
this phone has passed the "best camera quality in a smartphone" test, it's the fact from now on, but why keep talking about Symbian^3 ui? I hate android ui, some people hate iOS, Windows Phone 7 has worse squared ui os that MOST people agrees on... so what? every person has his taste
and in CPU front, mhz numbering is useless without experiencing the device in reality. so paper specs isn't that important, only reality experience is and this goes for the RAM too.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2010 The only reason gsmarena made such a test is to praise no... moreThat makes no sense. This test is fairer than any other I've seen on the american blogs. And there are others that praise the Nokia camera cause it really is that good. What would they have to gain by doing randomly giving Nokia the win here? Next you're gonna tell me Nokia paid them to do this. HA. I'm really tired of you conspiracy theorists out here.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2010mmmmh its funny that the top 3 spots in the by rate section... moreOne way to look at the top spots on this site is that those phones have the least enemies. iPhones for example never do all that well. Want to bet there are lots of 1,1,1 votes for N8?
Might be fun to get those statistics BTW. The interest counter is a better statistic at least in that it is less biased.

mmmmh its funny that the top 3 spots in the by rate section is occupied by SAMSUNG then SE if the N8 is so brilliant like everyone says then why isn't it on the top of the list, everyone i speak to using nokia phones are complaining they are to slow, they've got software problems for example the N8 processor is only a fraction faster and i mean a fraction than the omnia i900 which is a 2008 model, the lates samsung,SE and HTC'S all have 1ghz or faster i mean that speaks for itself even though the n8 won the blind test whats the point in buying a phone like the n8 thats gona cost u a arm and a leg i assume and its gonna take forever to open appss etc.

I really can't believe the complainers on here. We were given a set of pictures to vote for, people voted, and the results are given. Just what is everyone's problem? Sure they only tested shots with good lighting. Not much point comparing low-light photos as cameraphones will never be very good - just wait for the review to see that.
The test was fair so accept the result! Everyone should be happy that a cameraphone has performed so well!

if only N8 was placed 3rd, there would be nobody complaining
but after the result show that N8 is the winner, of course they came here and whine about this blind test

Xis, 08 Oct 2010Preview is not a blind test. Check your dictionary. I know what a Perview ia and what a Blind test is..
I was pointing that the order of pics posted by GSMA is different in both of them..
In blind test results the order was A=Sony, B=Pixon, C=N8
Where as, in preview it was N8, Pixon, Sony
Did they just interchanged the order in names..or did they do it for pics as well..
got it???
