i tnk gsmarena team forgot to mention x6 an excellent phone with excellent features in 16gb/8gb version and price tag is also competative, but they were still stuck on 5800 a vintage phone wid no capacitive touch....just try x6 or go
straight to n8 if ur budget allows u...x6 is a midrange all rounder

autofocus would be nice, but because its a 8mp camera, you can shoot a pic from around 50cm and zoom in to e.g. text
i've tried it with c7, which has the same camera
taking pictures is faster and i would prefer this to 3mp with af
for this price range, its acceptable

if you think 5mp AF is subpar, you've never known about the Samsung Wave or iPhone 4.

If camera is a deal breaker it is just stupid to get a second class 5 MP Autofocus.

There's no active noise cancellation in C6-01 like C7. Why GSMARENA put this under "Key features" in the review?

One comment here. The review mentions that text input is troublesome with an added step to type. This drawback can be solved by installing swype on the phone.its a free application so it solves all the problems related to messaging and typing.!
I hope GSMArena mentions this somewhere in the review.
Have a good day! :)

In the first page it said that c6-01 has tv-out functionality but the remaining review is silent about it. Why???

This phone is seriously missing the auto-focus feature. I regularly use my Nokia phone to take pics of documents, medicine labels and business cards. The trend of Nokia using EoF lenses is not too good for me.
Also the reviewer fails to understand the new screens in Symbian ^3 phones. Nokia is using more color depth per pixel + amoled and that is the main reason it can be compared to the ip4 and samsung super amoled screens.

Attention for the reviewer, there is an error in the review.
NOT all Nokia C6-01 are Pentaband 3G. There are two RM variants, RM-718 that is only Quadband 3G (doesn't have the 850 band) and RM-601 that is Pentaband 3G.
RM-718 will be sold in EUROPE, RM-601 will be sold in America / Asia. I don't know why RM-718 exists in the first place, but that will be sold in European stores and it won't have 850 Mhz 3G band. For a person who travels to North America, it might be problematic.
More details here under GENERAL > http://www.forum.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/C6-01/
WCDMA Band V (850) not supported in RM-718 variant.

Nice review. I'm torn between HTC Aria and this.
But, I've noticed something. Isn't the review too apologetic in Nokia's part? I mean when you review the Aria, you clearly labeled it's faults, but in this review, you were hoping to address what you call 'issues' in order to make it a better phone.
I'm confused, why should I wait for firmware updates in order to make it fully usable? Why should I wait an update in the browser?
Thanks 4 the review.

Stop saying that GSM Arena is copying the N8 review, if you read reviews of similar phones you will se that they do this with ALL reviews, and there's no problem since that they are talking to the same thing.
Anyway, the second and third official photos links are messed up.

The Designers of the new Symbian3 mobiles the N8.C7an C6.01 seem to have not put the speakers of these mobiles in the right position, the N8 as bit of a advantage with the camera rim sticking out at the back, but if you want to lays these mobiles down while sitting or laying down, you want to lay them with lcd screen visible to you but doing this with these new models you do not get Full Volume from the speakers an makes the speakers sound dim,so to get full volume from the speakers you have to lay the phone down with the lcd screen not visible to you,i have bought a stand for my N8 so i can see the Lcd screen an still get Full Volume,i bet the C7 an C6.01 speakers are worse than the N8,so Nokia ought to create some cradles for these new mobiles to help the speakers sound out
