Motorola DEFY review: Drag and drop

10 December 2010
This is no protocol droid, no phone made for walks in the park. It’s the Motorola DEFY and it isn’t afraid of what comes next. Good. Coming up is one of our reviews. And we’re having the pleasure of the first and only ruggedized Android GSM phone. It’s finally...

Anonymous, 11 Dec 2010"Higher-res videos seem to need more processing power ... morewhat resolution have you tested? i've got 850x480 h.264,avc mp4 running excellently on the defy, certainly way way higher than the 400 width basic divx gsmarena is mentioning,a rushed review me thinks it being left so late before the big crimbo!

If motorola defy had been a normal phone, that would have been a great review. BUT it is a RUGGED phone, so its ruggedness should be tested. I'm really dissapointed, because I looked forward to your drop and spill tests (like in samsung xplorer review).

          Please UPDATE!

In the "Advantages" section on the first page, you've listed the good audio quality 2 times - somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there HDMI or TV-Out function on this gadget ?

not test half the amount major rival websites have tested the defy under. App storage space certainly isn't short as gsmarena strangely claims as i have 78 apps on mine, some of considerable size with 760mb spare for more. Gsmarena didn't obviously test video codec playback either beside a generic divx file as i have a fair number of 850x480 h.264 level 5 mp4s at 1400 mbs on mine and they play brilliantly....tut tut

where is rugged and toughness tests??????????? may be main point of defy is its resistance to elements, but gsmarena skipped it

finally..!! after weeks and weeks of waiting..!! thanks gsmarena...but somehow from your review i feel you are not too sold on the defy...maybe it has to do with the fact that even 2.3 Gingerbread has almost released while the Defy is still stuck on 2.1 Eclair..??
