This phone is amazing! If all you haters dont like SE phones then leave this thread. Why do you keep slagging of SE? This thread is for those people who appreciate SE phones. Others, go else were. Just goes to show how much people are afraid of SE making a big splash this year.

Many are still claiming that SE will never adopt to the new market trends...except they just release a smartphone that is outsatnding!!!
The new UI looks great!!!!Al the bells and whistles are there and even more!!!And ofcourse the Bravia Mobil Engine....
I think that SE has done a great job and users will be happy with this phone!!!!
p.s.Thanx GSMArena for the preview, can't wait to see this thing in action ;)

amount of SE haters just proves their popularity
also x10 was almost double cheaper than 1st desire and it had specs better than it all except multitouch which will it have so i don't see the point in complaining that much considering the price

soooooooo... this is all very nice. SE is trying to return to the top with HTC and apple etc and it certainly seem like they're getting there... but it seems that they are taking a massive backwards step in terms of camera... i have a satio (stop laughing) and the only redeeming feature is the 12 megapixel snapper xenon flash etc.
is this a prelude to a satio 2 or similar? they've radied playstation, they've raided bravia and walkamn is still going... will we see a return of cybershot??

No ambient light sensor...
In fact, no one can make the PERFECT phone... It's a huge shame on SE to "forget" one of the most important feature and put some least useful in (HDMI).

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2011but how about updates? They promised faster updates from now on with all their new handsets because of the mediascape dumping.
We shall wait and see.

[deleted post]Talk about outdated?? this is has 2.3 Gingerbread.
Outdated is Samsung Galaxy S still running 2.1 no updates yet, some updates went out but fried the batteries of the consumers phones.
Cheap Plastic built, my brother has one, too much Laggyy. way too laggy. Samsung only copies design from other phone makers convert it to cheap plastic.
Look at the galaxy Tab, a lot of it's UI interface stolen from the guy who developed LauncherPro App
SE & Nokia are the two Most Well Built Phones, Although Nokia has boring design and Symbian, their only chance is with Meego now, they must get it right or they are out of the marker.

Pavel, 11 Jan 2011open your eyes in GSMarena's compare tool and you will see ... morenot worth it really, was just talking about the camera of n8 and arc, not as a whole phone, i will admit that symbian is very boring and old, that's all about it, but when it comes to hardware they are very good and updating the os and the software, but when it comes to SE, no update support to os and to the software they just want to release another new phone for the new software...

The SE Arc will sell... not because it has the most advanced feature set and not because it has the most advanced hardware specs. It will sell because SE can compel buyers with drop dead designs and this time, they hit the marketing right.
Good looks go a long way. Aside from the tech specs, the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S(despite it's cheap materials) sold well because they looked good; the Galaxy S because it was meant to look like the iPhone.
The Xperia X10, despite the violent comments, created a cult but ended with a frustrated following. Majority of those who bought the device knew its limitations but went out anyway.
In my country, where HTC has limited penetration and worse marketing, SE Xperia is the best-selling Android phone.
The Xperia Arc has a unique and compelling design and a decent feature set just enough to satisfy the average Android user who has no demand high-caliber gaming (also consider downloads costs) and 1080p (on a small display). This will definitely fall in the hands of not so techy individuals willing to experiment with Android.
Am I a fanboy? Am I biased? Absolutely not. I'm still sticking with my Symbian Nokia N8.

Sony ericsson never gives update. Google keeps updating android . So the phone will be having outdated os very soon. So buying this phone will be a waste of money...

The phone scene is becoming really boring. Nobody ever releases anything new, they keep on putting faster processors, brighter/larger screens, but that's it. No more innovations. :\ Yays for 2005-2008's Yay! now with bluetooth! Yay! GPS! Yay! Xenon Flash!

[deleted post]My thoughts exactly. Some people are never happy, and some just speak ill of all things SE. Anyways I just sold my X10 today and am waiting for this baby to be released! I don't need a dual core nor a front facing camera so this phone is just perfect for me. I'll also keep an eye out for the MWC though, to see what Nokia has up their sleeves with MeeGo, but my experience with Symbian and Nokia tells me that it will probably be more evolutionary (meaning copy from competitors) than revolutionary.
Samsung and HTC phones might have killer specs but they feel very cheap IMO. My trustworthy SE t316 still rocks, even though I must have dropped it a million times already. People complain about SE dropping support for the X10, but no one seems to complain about the numerous handsets Samsung / HTC have abandoned.
Anyway this phone is simply gorgeous.
