Claudia, 15 Feb 2011Ok i know that i will get shot down in flames for saying th... moreI see your concern, samsung has not been very good with updates (although galaxys did get 2.2 froyo update internationally except US) but I think since Galaxy S II is released in Gingerbread and Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Honeycomb, you could probably use those for about 2 years since samsung will update at least once like they did with galaxy s. And apparently the next android version (Ice-cream or ice-cream sandwich) will be released this year around july meaning the next android version after ice-cream will be released next year? Making it problby 2 full years or 1 year and a half until galaxy s II gets outdated (if we assume that samsung will update it only once like galaxy s) so I think it's quite safe to go for galaxy S II at least from my logic. So many apple lovers here , Samsung is the leader at the moment , its the only one who had a 300% increase in sales from last year wich is incredible.
Regarding Apple. Has 4 devices or so at any given time in production while samsung or lg or others have hundreds of models . Also samsung devices come from the factory with beautifull optimisation and full features and doesnt require regular updates. Apple fail when launching a new device ( iphone4 fail with the antena and gyro) also the updates didnt fix anything properly.
Apple is only good for one thing , Build quality as in materials that are used.Outdated hardware and limited options due to apple store.
Samsung is the best because it is balanced , between build quality , hardware and software.
Lg Fails at build quality and software . Though they announced they will invest more money starting this year in those departments.
Motorola is never standing out allot , has good software to begin with , decent hardware bust most important thing is that everytime , motorola manages to bring something new to the market. ( laptop dock , tv dock)
Nokia ... FAILED !
HTC has awesome build quality with aluminium unibody designs , stable software not so impressive hardware.
So in the end your better of buying SAMSUNG(now) or LG(in the future) or if you dont like those buy an apple ... did i really say that? I was JOKING ! If you want the same quality and specs as an apple ,buy an HTC because its 50% cheaper and its the exact same thing.

i must say that the hands-on gives me the impression that the dual-core/1 gb ram and 2.3 combination are really fantastic! cant wait to see the real deal!

Ok i know that i will get shot down in flames for saying this But spec wise Samsung and LG are rocking with their phones and tablets.
who can tell what is going on with HTC, but if i had a bet out the three who would actually get an update first my money would be on HTC Samsung do not care about their customers all they are interested in is money so you may and may not get an update, and who knows about LG they just dont have the customer trust when it comes to Hi end Android handsets.
Having said that i can see where Samsung are going with their hubs and it far more exciting than what the offical Android App store is doing. I can envision a time when all Samsung phones will be able to get books, music and films easily as well as downloading games that will take advantage of of the Dual core power. my problem is i just trust HTC more than Samsung in making my phone last a bit longer with more timely updates.

Strong showing from Samsung here, clearly they're riding the wave of success that the Galaxy S brought them. S II is impressive stuff, but the Tab 10.1 is the real star in my opinion. A tablet with a massive screen, Honeycomb and an astonishingly good camera; as much as it annoys me that the original Tab will be left in the dust, they've clearly learned from their mistakes. It's at least got competition in the XOOM, but unfortunately HTC seem to have underestimated everyone with the Flyer.

LG optimus 2x has way better camera, but LG optimus 3D is way better phone.

Plus desing and materials looks like 300dollars phone,poor ergonomics and all this cost 1000,turly great device))))

What ! The Galaxy Tab 10.1 can't make phone calls directly but only thru bluetooth from your cellphone ! What a bammer !

I dont know what to say.. but there is something about the fluidity of Touchwiz 4.0... seems laggy at times!!!

You can plug a pendrive, external hard disc... SUPERCOOL. It's very rare feature in cellphone world.

AnonD-326, 14 Feb 2011samsung can never dominate what apple did.. because what i;... moreyeah i agree with you in that point..apple updates their devices regularly to keep it upto date...and the most bad thing about android devices is that their lifetime is pretty short...suppose this galaxy s2 released with 2.3(gingerbread)...probably the next update will be 2.4 or 3.0(honeycomb) *may be and after that 3.1(icecream)...dats it after that u may not get any major updates or support..
where as apple releases unlimited updates unless the device actually reaches it hardware limitations...even today apple is updating the iphone3g lol and its almost 3 years may be iphone 3g will not be updated to 4.3 since the hardware is getting pretty old...

Edge, 14 Feb 2011samsung are gonna do what apple did in the last 5 years, th... moresamsung can never dominate what apple did.. because what i;ve seen apple keeps upgrading its even 2g handsets and ipods... but samsung.. no WAY !!!!! plus apple always provide good quantity for users all around the world to buy there products... Samsung made a good phone.. with strong demand of market it was never to be found... and now they are not even making the first Super Amoled screens :) no way korea can dominate the world of mobiles...although taiwanis might :)

Way behing LG 3D :( and i hope the make a huge quantity of Galaxy s II... since Galaxy s became a dream mobile in just few weeks.. nowhere to be available and then suddenly Samsung stopped making super amoled.... Samsung's commitment to its own devices is very poor. they just look forward for the new .. and forget old.. meaning no care for old users !!! very poor...
