Motorola XOOM review: The Big Bang

26 May 2011
Phones far and wide wanted to be the iPhone killer and you know what – tablets are no different. The iPad needs to get used to living with a bounty on its head. And always be ready for the likes of the Motorola XOOM. But the XOOM is no ordinary...

"Phones far and wide wanted to be the iPhone killer"
I think that was a unnecessary observation. I think that we are already overcome that... iPhone was the phone that made touchscreen popular and that's all, there already pretty much options in the market that offer a lot of different (and better) possibilities.

AnonD-5197, 30 May 2011Nah, they'll just be late as usual with 800MHz single core ... moreThat's too advanced for Nokia. Try 680 MHz single core with 256 Mb RAM. =P

I still don't understand GSMA's aim of reviews.
Listing the features for a device and concluding is not a true review. A true review is to quantify the qualities.
Specially when comes to the tablets. In tablets the OS rules.
HoneyComb is a new platform (to some extent) and the stability, fluidity and the other stuff related to it's core should be challenged and judged. GSMArena team, more accurate, more precise and more technical. OS is more than some features.
This OS is a copy of iOS and it seems they have developed and refined the surface (reserve for the taste of art that for Android is seriously missing)and missed the core, management of resources is as awful as WindowsXP for PCs. The battery drain, generally laggy and poor performance, instead of reach features (Literally).

iOS smoothness is now a myth. Only the games are missing. Only a fool will pay a fortune for a bunch of (rounded) icons.

sometimes, being the first one, includes some sacrifices that should be made.Motorola xoom, being the first honeycomb tablet has some issues, but I'm sure the future update will fix them.Until then, xoom is still one of the best tablets on the market

USB ports on laptop/netbook,.. are limited to 0.5 Watts , so if you plug something which need more juice, you burn your computer.
this is why you need to use a charger.
