Motorola XOOM review: The Big Bang

26 May 2011
Phones far and wide wanted to be the iPhone killer and you know what – tablets are no different. The iPad needs to get used to living with a bounty on its head. And always be ready for the likes of the Motorola XOOM. But the XOOM is no ordinary...

@GSMArena Reviewers:

I'd like you to know that none of the tablets can be charged via USB. The power supply required is far too much. I believe you should not consider that a flaw. The iPads can't be charged that way either.

I've used 3 tablets so far, I know!

        Dothan, 26 May 2011Yea, but maybe from Motorola should waited for Android 3.1 ... moreYes that is true, Honeycomb was rushed and Motorola were really pathetic having sd card and LTE functionality (in the US) and not having it work from the start. That's why other Honycomb tablets, especially the Asus Transformer with its good price are a better choice. Soon prices will fall because of the competition between manufacturers and that is a good thing for consumers.

          I'll wait for Galaxy Tab 10.1

          XOOM actually felt rushed when I tried it at BestBuy.

            Android tablets will not be very successful until they run on Android 3.1 (or higher) and have adequate GPUs that can handle these resolutions. Tegra2 lands far behind the Power VR SGX543MP and was not intended to power Honeycomb devices, unlike the upcoming Tegra3 chipset...

              I bought a Xoom yesterday and I have not seen any lag on it yet, even when watching flash videos. Other than that, nice review.

                This review is WAY too late. Xoom has been out for ages and is almost obsolete. Why not wait for the Xoom 2 or Honeybunny 3.1?

                  This is sick...... Awful review. IPAD 2 sucks. You can't even put a memmory card. 4.5 hours of 720p video recording and 10 GB memory used.

                  Plus Ipad's design sucks bad.

                    Wesley, 26 May 2011It would have been much better if Gsmarena could have waite... moreYea, but maybe from Motorola should waited for Android 3.1 before bringing to market something that is obviously still in RC1 stage. You cannot sell something on this price with so many things not working... and to tell to the people that they should wait for SW update.

                      I have the Acer A500 and I couldn't be happier. People should definitely look into that before the XOOM.

                        It would have been much better if Gsmarena could have waited for the 3.1 update to do a review of The Motorola Xoom...

                              If i wanna buy a product and its more expensive than it's main competitor, it must be better than it's competition in every single way.
                              Am an Android Fan and Supporter, and will never own an IOS Product, but NO WAY MOTOROLA WILL I PAY FOR THIS SHIT!
