asdf, 30 Jun 2011Inspired from others: icons and no homescreens like iPhone,... moreiOS, Android grid homescreen and menu copy of Symbian, Palm OS. Android widgets copy of Symbian. Additional options, copy of Symbian, back button copy of Symbian. Oh wow, nitpicking is dumb. None of the things mentioned are patented. If you want to check Nokia's desperation, have a look at the N900 and Maemo 5. If it was released for the masses, iOS and Android would be dead. Lucky chickens.

AnonD-12237, 30 Jun 2011120FPS? anything above 60FPS is not noticeable by the human... moreWell, as you can see, CPU is not wasted. It runs at 120fps and yet no lag or any slow downs during multitasking and swiping. Compare that to the Galaxy S2 which finally makes android run at 25fps with a 1.2ghz dual core. Yeah, a definite waste of resources.

Why Nokia don't run Android -
"He (Stephen Elop) tried to negotiate a deal with Google to run Android, but Google refused to give the world's biggest phonemaker any advantages over its smaller partners, meaning Nokia's corps of 11,600 engineers would have next to no ability to add their own innovations to Google's software."

Stop crying, Alui. No-one cares about apps once you've got past the standard dozen or so that everyone uses.

I prefere the Samsung Galaxy S2 1 billion times over this piece of junk. Nokia have you ever heard of 1080p videos? Ohh wait that doesn't matter your 720p is better! :)))))) Stupid NOKIA!
Android is FREE Open Source! Why would anyone chose anything over a free OS?

Inspired from others: icons and no homescreens like iPhone, swype like BBerry, drop-down statusbar like Android, setting menus like Windows, and i suppose very few apps, like Bada. Nokia is desperate to sell something, it's trying to find a way but it's lost.....trying, trying, but still not there.... i feel sorry for them. There was a time when Nokia ruled with N95-8GB, and now ....behind the competition and lost... Pity.

A, 30 Jun 2011More apps doesn't change the fact that 90% of them are usel... moreIt also doesn't change the fact that people will be more reluctant to purchase a phone that will not be supported or has less apps. When there's more devs there's better ideas which in turn will make the phone much better in the future. Yeah 90% are garbage but chances are there more more apps missing in less supported OS than the one with hundred millions of apps. You might the only few logical consumers who might purchase a phone with the only features you'll use, but when it comes to sales people do look at apps.

There's a Symbian phone in my pocket which I chose over Android and Apple with their millions of useless apps, precisely for that reason. It absolutely makes no difference to me if Nokia abandons all support for Symbian tomorrow, because I don't need it, just like I don't need the third party apps.

A, 29 Jun 2011Wrong. Anyone looking for an entertainment gadget looks for... moreWrong. Apps are one of the important elements in the virtuous cycle where more users -> more money -> more devs -> more apps -> more users. Apps kind of implies the success of the OS and better support. Also more features can be added through apps. Apps are not only for entertainment.
Symbian, Blackberry, WP7, webOS all had poor app supports. Where are they now?
