Nokia X1-01 review: Dual-SIM 101

12 August 2011
The Nokia X1-01 hides two SIM cards underneath its cheerfully colored shell, both active at the same time. And with a price lower than what some contracts cost per month, the X1-01 takes over where the C1-00 left off. There are several key...

I bought this X1-01 when it was first released here in Manila last June 17. I bought it for PhP 1900.

All I can say is that this phone is awesome! A great budget phone and gets its job done! No questions asked.

The dual-sim functionality works great and I've never had issues with sending/receiving sms and incoming and outgoing calls. The voice clarity is magnificent as well as the loudspeaker!

I have my Sun and Globe numbers housed on my X1-01. Perfect for unlimited texting and calling!

I'm using this X1-01 as my secondary phone. I use a Nokia X6 16Gb (which I'm thinking of replacing with either HTC or SonyEricsson). My X1-01 uses an 8Gb microsd with 192kbps mp3 songs and it doesn't lag and crash! My Shure SE530 earphones work great with the X1-01. Very good audio quality (even without equalizer). Same goes with the FM radio.

As for the battery's performance, it lasts for 5 days. To think that on average, I usually take/make calls lasting to more or less an hour a day, about an hour of listening to mp3 (sometimes I use my X6) and about 20 minutes of... flashlight! Yeah, because I go home late and so I have to walk 2 kilometers every night so I use my flashlight in dim areas.

Overall, the X1-01 will save Nokia's ass. It's a budget phone and it's a winner! Good job!

[deleted post]The damage has been done. You need to apologize and shoot a video of yourself on YouTube so you'd be forgiven.

I am currently using this phone X1-01.. it only lasts for 3 days at maximum but because I'm playing mp3 song for about 4-5hours a day non-stop. :)
but i guess if I'm going to use it for texting and calling it will last for about 4-5days.. trust me it will not last for a week (maybe if I'll just leave it on my bed and not using it) but the handset is really nice especially the orange one because of its juicy color.. ^_^

I forgot to mention it restarts itself 8 times a day "Before" (because I have 550 songs in my 4GB memory card), but now it restarts itself uhm once per week or once every two weeks.. I guess it's normal for this phone, just give it time to adjust.. :)

I'm happy with it, I'm contended with its limited features(lack of camera etc.) because my K850i Cyber-shot and 7500 Prism will do it for my X1-01 baby.. ^_^

This is a good mobile phone. Just what i need for my backup phone. Simple dualsim phone with great battery and for listening songs with a decent earphone. But i've bought c2-00.

Is a full review really necessary for this type of phones? Honestly, you call, message and that's it. 5 lines should have been largely enough.

i think x1-01 is the best dual SIM basic mobile phone for today with it's cheap price. It's very suitable for us who doesn't need complex funtion on our mobile. I like it very much.

Finally a refreshing review of a phone that doesn't look like all the others and has a personality (And a proper battery life!). Lately, if I see it's a touchscreen review I just look at the first page and the camera review, but I've actually read all of this with a smile. Thanks!

I can buy smartphones but i won't, such a waste of money and time, actually, i enjoy using cheap phones, so people like me wants to see more review for cheap phones, if you don't like it don't waste your time reading it and commenting on it, just ignore it, is that hard? :-)
