AnonD-7741, 08 Sep 2011Dude Symbian gives better battery life because it do nothin... moreFunniest thing I have ever read. Buy a notebook or tablet friend if you need computer with you. This should be mobile device. Mobile mean you don't need charger on every step.
Symbian can do almost everything as Android, not that good,but much longer. All depend on you, if you need smartphone with better battery life or something closer to the computer.

I agree with Mark, Great comment by the way!
I think Nokia has a different view of mobility than any other company including apple and google, and most importantly Right view in my opinion, this is why I think they do. Nokia truly makes a MOBILE device not hybrid tablet/laptop/phone device that DROID is trying to produce and apple is following after...True mobile device is that is of good quality, built to last, since mobile device gets used everyday and it has to have, good true offline free Maps, decent camera with good HD video recording and good battery, last time I checked Nokia is good in all those aspects and continiue being better, so I am sorry but those who really looking for 5"-7" displays with 3mhz processors may be really should be looking for laptops not mobile phones that should still fit in our pockets...

Don't argue for anything else...it's very clear why APPLE and SAMSUNG is on #1 and #2 respectively, while NOKIA dropped to 3rd place for the very first time. The no.1 problem with Nokia is their old Symbian OS, aside from making the camera "fixed-focus" and unattractive design of their mobile. "Just shift to ANDROID, AUTOFOCUS camera and a good PHONE DESIGN, they will be back to no.1" Look at the coming soon phones (Nokia 500,600,700 & 701), they are all fixed-focus and the design is not good.

the reason of all this change and inspiration is Android because it's successful ... and that's what NOKIA need Money, look at the Market share for god sake in 2006/2007 nokia % was from 75% to 65% now they still at the top but with 35% to 30% and in 2nd quarter Samsung and Apple kicked NOKIA's butt in shipping devices, and i have already mention the cuts down they have to make and shouting down shops across the globe... now is that a sign of success
NOKIA lost them selves in the game, tell me why NOKIA is the only company didn't go for Android OS although Android proved it's success because it's embarrassing... look at me i'm NOKIA i have my own OS that i have bought (Symbian) and i'm considering joining Android... they will look like fools but also they can't survive so move on to WP7 and let's steal most of the Android UI and have guys like you try to convince us the all this belong to Maemo and Maemo took it from Symbian...pathetic

Really? NFC, 8 Mp Camera, 1000 nits brightness, offline free maps, industry leading battery life, top notch reception, great an smooth UI with Belle, functioning GPS system, proper file system, no malware, and the strongest GPU in a phone currently. (BCM2763). Way behind where?
Show me 1 Android device that has these qualities at this price point. Stop believing your own drivel.

I can confirm the stories about the C7 being a commercial success. It has been the best selling Smartphone, bar none, in France over the last two quarters.
Also, on Android, it is inefficient code that leads to poor battery life, shoddy reception and substandard call quality versus Symbian. Symbian has all the apps I need, and with the 701, even the GPU is class leading, with its 1 Gigapixel/s capacity.

Abadi, 08 Sep 2011i don't hate NOKIA but you have to face the facts that NOKI... morebro me also from your country :-) but still nokia top selling brand :-) in our country . and about meamo nokia n900 first use it after that you will know what is power of meamo in 2009 . now day by day android symbian ios going better . but in 2009 nokia n900 supported video call skYpE gtalk flash 9.4 you can open multi windows page browser :-) and about games angry brids . meamo was one of great os

all i know are the facts from sales reports made every month in our marketing and sales departments at orange: the best selled smartphone in the last 8 month is nokia c7-00. it is one of the most best selled mobile ever. rest are details and your opinions doesn't matter in front of the reality of the shops. nokia is making mobiles to sell it and make money, and despite all gossips and crises, nokia is still number one as it always was. in the shops we never felt that nokia have problems anymore

With my S^3 phone I use maps freely (without the need of internet connection like the stupid Google Maps app on Android), shot and watch HD videos, update my Facebook and Twitter status, listen to music, send messages, read news, play some games and the battery can last all the day easily. With Android you do the same but the phone last much less. Android is battery hungry and that's just a fact.

Dude Symbian gives better battery life because it do nothing .....Android users have thousands of innovative things to do in their phone so it will reduce battery life.
......I AM LOOKING FOR SMART PHONE NOT A BATTERY PHONE ............

Wish gsmarena would do a battery test with Symbian an Android,an it would show to people why Symbian as been so easy an not battery draining software,thats the only reason i have kept away from Android phones,o.k they might look good but its the price of buying an running the Android phone thats turns out very costly,an Symbian is not

NOKIA is not doing so well with Stmbian that's a fact otherwise why Maemo or Meego or WP7
and for your information since 2009 when the Blackberry 9000 & 8900 & Apple iPhone 3GS came out NOKIA was in the bottom in my country and they still there... Symbian is taken NOKIA anywhere but down

Nokia doesn't even use Maemo anymore and just in case you are talking about Meego, Nokia plans to launch only ONE device. It will die sooner than Symbian. Really can't discuss with you with having such limited aknowledge, I recommend you do some research first...

WHAT HAPPEN TO MAEMO?? every OS copy the previous OS but Android has prove the improvement and development other than any OS... and know one can deny that
