+ HDMI
+ Better earphones
+ Not forced to use iTunes and can connect to PC in a a standard way!
+ Car charger
(There are just so many ways in which the Xperia Pro beats the iPhone where it matters that it's hard to list them all at once :D :D)

You'll also get:
- superior text input
- open non-proprietary cross-platform operating system, with decent updates from Sony Ericsson.
- a bigger app platform (just wait a few months and iOS will be #2)
- bigger screen
- fits better in pocket than iPhone (not as wide) and no sharp edges.
- Only 2g difference in weight between the two.
- Plastic is less likely to shatter than the glass/metal on iPhone.
- FM radio
- same camera sensor
- standard SIM card
- Expandable microSD memory
- Standard microUSB charging
... and last but not least, street cred for not being an Apple iDrone ;) :D :D

For the the qwerty keyboard is very important, since typing on the screen is not so fast doable. Any last recommandations? Thank you very much for your answers!

There are also many other backup apps that you can download from the Android Market.

2. Black version is the best and most sleek looking IMO. Yes, it gets fingerprints, but you only really notice them if you put it under a bright light, so fingerprints don't look as bad as on online photos which have been taken with a camera flash. The glossy surface means that actually the back cover is easy to clean with one wipe. The area under the keyboard is tricker to clean, but you don't need to clean it so often there. If it worries you, then get the silver colour.
3. Yes, you can auto-sync your contacts to Sony Ericsson or Google etc. cloud servers to back them up.

1. I'm thinking of getting one, but i have some doubts. First the usb port on the top; when i talk to much and have to load while still speaking the port should be at the bottom, not on top. on top should be the headphones exit, which here is on the side. anybody else having this issues while using it?
2. Is the black one really having issues with the fingerprints?
3. Is there any software to make regular backup of the phonem not to lose the contacts, etc in case something happens?

The latest software update for this phone makes it even smoother, especially during web browsing. FYI, think GSMArena's video of the UI is actually using a slightly older software version.

This thing does everything you could want to do now pretty smoothly, and we should see some more performance gains with ICS with proper GPU acceleration for the UI. It's also priced cheaper - compare like for like and this is better than anything in a similar range and better value than any dual core with pointlessly humungous screens that don't fit nice in a pocket. Xperia Pro is compact, fits in the pocket and is superior for text input than those humungous and more expensive beast phones.
As for the Xperia Play, yes it was priced extortionately at release, but now has has major price cuts - so much so that the Play also is one of the best value phones that you can get. I like Sony Ericsson's phone strategy this year - they come across as having more down-to-earth phones that normal people can buy. Not overpriced and oversized junk for geeks with too much money.

The experience is so like a portable console that I've sold my old Sega Genesis! Xperia Play doesn't even have the HDMI like this.

The Pro has more features than the Arc, yet is priced a good bit cheaper - it is still very competitive and I don't see anything else in its price range that comes close (actually, I don't see ANY device that comes close regardleess if price, given the compact form factor and keyboard). I quite simply will not pay the amount that "flagship" device makers are demanding. Having said that though, even this is at the very upper range of what is affordable for me, and I's like to see prices drop further (I blame crAppl€ for making extortionate prices somehow acceptable).
I think GSMArena need to mention value for money more in their reviews.

You are wrong about the onscreen keyboard. The default gingerbread keyboard doesn't have swipe and looks different.

This phone, for me, embodies the problem of SonyE...Which is simply...
Firstly, massive release-date delays (they've been notoriously bad at this for YEARS!) way back to their fab P900!
Secondly, releasing a phone with very much outdated specs... (last year's specs) especially considering we're almost in 2012 - this is really like 2010 specs...
Which means, thirdly, it's so not future-proof it hurts...
I want to love SonyE - I'm liking their new designs, etc. but the Arc is 2010 specs as is the Arc S - which is meant to be their 'flagship' device... (and I'm mainly talking high-end phones here) - SonyE has to contend with Sammy's GS2 - GS3 early next year and HTC / Moto - who are catching up with their specs FAST...
SonyE just always seems one year behind everyone else in terms of specs... Xperia Play being prime example of how to alienate the target audience they were going for - by creating a gaming phone with such poor specs that it looks positively archaic now... no radio... no bespoke camera software.. poor audio... incredibly poor screen... SHOCKING
Let's see what happens with next year's phones eh? Maybe one year they'll get it right...

Small info to people who might find it nice... As opposed to ie. Motorola Atrix, which needs a dedicated $70 dock to reflect and use Tv screen, this thing runs everything full screen on 42inch plasma, just through the HDMI cable... Everything appears as on the phone, browsing, YTube plays flawlessly, messaging.. Even games are played full screen, as you are playing PS... Surprised me, because Atrix (and others) just take you to some ugly pic and media browser...
