Samsung Galaxy Nexus review: Opening new doors

What troubles me about manufacturers making Google flagship phones... is as GSMA has eluded... they are purposely borking the specs so that they do not compete with their own products...
So you're never 'quite' getting the real deal...
This is to the detriment of Google / Android users...
The fact that they've purposely lowered the resolution of the camera AND omitted a radio and memory card slot is totally unacceptable... all so that it doesn't compete directly with GS2..
:(
I worry that when Motorola start producing their version of the Nexus, whatever it may be, they do the same so that it doesn't compete with their Atrix or Razr or whatever they have out at the time...
Not good times for the consumer...
I have a GS2 - totally happy with it, but if this is what companies are going to start doing, purposely lowering specs to avoid competing against their own products...and then sell it as a 'flagship' then it's going to really hurt the image of the company that produces it and of android...

the phone is really great, very smooth, and a very nice screen, but there is one thing that made me sell it within one week, battery life while browsing the internet is a joke, and I do a lot of browsing on my phone, so if you'll do a lot of browsing on the galaxy nexus beware.

The display brightness is far lower than GS2 (which itself was considered lower in your review). How about its performance in bright sunlight? No hint on it.
Probably this is the first review about the device which did not brag much about it. I find this device is celebrated much by across most reviewers and what I get from your review is, this device is no stellar.
Finally, I am confused if I have to get this (only after reading this review) considering the price it is selling around.

I'm hearing sales of this phone are very poor and it's unlikely the handset will have a shelf life beyond 3-6 months.

the ui visual design may not be pretty, its stock android anyway and meant to be a reference device...but it seems its consumer friendly enough, so i'm returning to android...

the quality of an image has more to do with the sensor, lens and the aperture rather than megapixels.
The myth about more megapixels equals better image is plain wrong.

Tried this in a mobile store. I thought the screen was good and the colour was nice but that was about it as. The build on this phone is just terriable and cheap and I couldn't believe the fact that this super phone was laggy.

"first droid phone with a 720p screen" = ?
So GSM mentions US and South Korea but fail to mention the various droids from Japan (released since Nov) that far eclipses almost all of the specs quoted here bar not having ICS.
