But Y is no one discussing about the RAM? Its 1 GB in SGR and 512 MB in 2X. Is that not important for future android updates to have more RAM? May be the updates in a year or so will require more RAM. Am not sure.
Someone can enlighten us on this

The LG software has a lot of bugs that means that the phone crashes often ore needs a reboot (every day or 2). LG does not have any updates. The all told me to go for the Galaxy R. I just got it. So fare I am pretty impressed with the sync software from Samsung "Kies". I can not say anything about the stability of the Galaxy R yet...

saw, 06 Feb 2012LG OPTIMUS 2X is the clear winner. 8mp camera with 1080p H... morethe fact is that smoothness and stability on every heavy usage is the most important and the double ram and the optimized software by samsung does that,all the others you said are solved by easy mods and hdmi out probably by a converter cable.Why do you look only the some specs.lg 2x has bad viewing angles and it's software can't be fixed or even updated easily by mods because of the late published lg and nvidia drivers.I saw galaxy r in youtube and surfs the web with flash sites like a butter while I hardly browse and post texts in tabs with my lg 2x,the live wallpepers lagg on every custom rom,gps on the official late gingerbread doesn't work when ics will take months to come and we don't know if will have hardware acceleration when 2.3 does not,the cyanogen team don't know when ics cm9 will be ported because of it's difficulty and many devs abandoned it for serious phones.

LG OPTIMUS 2X is the clear winner. 8mp camera with 1080p HD video recording, superb IPS LCD display(superior to amoled), HDMI, GORILLA GLASS DISPLAY, best benchmarking(when compared to R)...still wat neede? LG O2X is the winner...

One thing is the most importand,optimized software.All samsungs are build even with problematics socs like tegra (hd mkv,closed drivers etc) to be smooth on every kind of usage.R has also 1 gig of ram so the smooth and stable browsing,ui and multytasking won my lg 2x.For the 1000 time never lg again.

What about the Atrix? It also runs on the Tegra 2 CPU and has a 4" screen! Compare that as well

Neither of these phones holds a candle to my trusty SE K750. I compared all aspects, except maybe browsing, and the SE wins every time. Amazing for such an old phone!

LG 2X doesn't have touch to focus option in its camera.
Which the galaxy R has
The galaxy R surfers from the generic same again looks of Samsung

optimus 2x is far better than galaxy r. It has gorilla glass,8 mp camera,confirm ics update,better feel in hand where galaxy r fells slippery. I have seen web browser crash reports with galaxy r. Finally i would prefer optimus 2x or if you are not that type of lg fan then look out for huawei honor..

again, new android phones and they look exactly the same. Doesnt matter if its LG or any other phone - all the same, just with differently shaped home button..

Get a 2.3 rom on the 2X and its no doubt the best phone, battery life gets another hour or more, it depends.

One more advantage of LG Optimus 2x it has Gorilla Glass display so it doesn't break of easily and not scratches at all. Where as Galaxy R has a normal screen where scratches are possible if not covered with screen protector

lg optimus 2x wins hands down! that is, if you're looking for a phone which lags like crazy. drops calls, lasts 6hours+, crashes, etc. lg will do all that for you :)

Don't forget, optimus 2x is a phone that has its time on the market, we have a lot of roms, increasing tegra perfomance, battery life, camera quality, Yes, it's low RAM is some times a problem, but easily contornable (memory swap/virtual memory is avaible!)!
so, take in the account that if you are somewhat NERD, you can make this phone, a little superior than galaxy R!

i bought SGR and it's superb and the indian price is RS 20,500.the slim profile is cool and the phone is sexy.
very smooth and i have played no of games on it GTA III runs smoothly on it with high settings.overall,nobody will be dissappointed

there is no doubt, LG optimus 2X wins here...with 1080p n other LG skin on it makes much difference...LG rox!
