Samsung Galaxy S III vs. Note II: Sizing up

12 October 2012
The Galaxy S III and the Note II are both cut from the same cloth, but one is XL while the other is XXL. What can we say - someone at Samsung must be busy spinning and weaving. Size matters as it always has but this isn’t a choice between slim fit...

both these galaxy s3 and note2 phones back cover is made up of cheap thin plastic which is very risky cause it can easily breakble while LG android phones r good built quality and more durable

I have an S3, my friend have the Note2. I feel like my S3 is so small now!!! Will sell this and buy myself a Note2. The S Pen is so good and handy with surprisingly quite a lot of uses. The screen is better and brighter because its non-PenTile. S3 is still a great phone, but why settle for it when you can have the better option? They fit ok in the pocket and I use my S3 two-handed anyway, no problem using the note2 at all. Who uses phones 1-handed anyway? Even iphone users with tiny 3.5-4inch screens uses their phones 2-handed! It's just faster that way!

AnonD-76865, 22 Oct 2012if htc one x + enter the comparison i need help to choose b... moreWith all due respect I can't see any HTC device comparing with the Note 2. Even the S3 is as good as the HTC One x, actually the S3 is better in many departments save few. There is no device that can compare to the Note 2 on the market as it simply blows competition aside. The only advantage for the OneX + is it's smaller and that's it.

The N2 has a larger screen which is good for videos/web browsing/gaming/ebooks etc.
Longer better battery life and accessible battery which is useful for spare batteries or if you wanna upgrade it.
Has more neat features like Split screen/Pop up play/Smart alert/Direct call/Smart Rotate/Quick glance etc etc I can go on all day..
It has the S pen which is AMAZING and has great software integration..Web browsing is much better on the N2..
The N2 also has a stronger GPU performance (benchmarks) and a far better loudspeaker.
With the N2 you get value for arguably the best handset on the market, a phone which has clear advantages over the Note 1 and S3.
Whereas HTC OneX + is hardly that better then the original One X.
If you want the best phone/phablet etc then the N2 hands down.

kagiso, 14 Nov 2012I see you people commenting and advising which phone to pic... moreI had a S3 and loved it BUT I decided to exchange it for a Note 2 for some more money and I have to tell you it's worth it.
The S3 is good and not that different froma Note 2 but the Note 2 is stronger and has better productivity.
If you can handle a bigger phone then go for Note 2 it's easily worth the extra money. You get a bigger awesome screen, the S pen is amazingly integrated into the phone, the split screen feature is awesome and the longer battery life. Not to mention other nicities that you get on N2 but if you wanna get a smaller handset then the S3 is still good. Personally though Note 2 all the way!.

Galaxy s3 vs galaxy note 2
                      This is a dred war....
Well but i dnt consider it as one.. ITs bcz i observed.that ders no much diff btwn galaxy s3 nd note two dey hav similar features. All features possessed by galaxy s3 are included in note 2 along with sm additional features such as extra 1gb ram, s pen and its apps and the most signifficant 5.55 inch screen nd more. To c it looks a very diff choice but i wud say a hard core user MUST go for note 2 unless its a diff handle for him as ots too big. Nd if tbe user wants a beter phone dat can beat evrythng but nt a very frequent user den surely s3. Ya another thing, there r many rumours regarding note 2' size i dnt no y. Wel i wud say its nt a prob it fits in hand wel untill the user has a very small hand and evn galaxy note two's size.. Its realy not atol a prob. It fits ryt into the trouser pockets easily. So if u dnt hav a size prob den put in some 2500 bucks more nd go for galaxy note 2 ITS WORTH!!

AnonD-76290, 18 Oct 2012S3 is better or note2?plz help me which one to pick?I've changed my S3 for Note 2, and from my personal experience I can say, performance-wise there's no other better phone than Note 2...

S3 was undoubtedly a great phone, but let me explain to u why i chose note 2 over this one

                            1. even with quad core processor, 1 GB RAM used to limit S3's performance... even previous years's S2 comes ith same amt of RAM. So, no upgrade... But for Note 2... 2 GB RAM does a lot to make the device buttery smooth!!

                            2. Even though ppi has been reduced by 39 in note 2 for its larger screen... i must say picture quality is far better due to non-pentile display.... so again my opinion is Note 2.

                            3. S-Pen and its supercool features in Note 2.... C-Pen for SGS3 was of no use at all (really)

                            4. Gigantic battery... if u flash a custom ROM later you'll be able to churn out more talktime hours of the Note 2

                            5. This device was launched with Jelly Bean, whereas S3 came with ICS... so this one is sure to get more updated an also fast updates.

                            6. No, the last one might be odd, still

If I buy a premium flagship handset... so personally i would never like it to be carried by many others and my device being a 'common mobile'... and also the phone that has greater sales and high productivity sees quick fall of prices at online stores (check eBay for Note and S2).... i would never like it if the phone i bought started getting cheaper... so again I like Note 2 above SGS3...

                            Go for SGN2

either way its pretty safe to say these are the best phones of 2012 by far

the power of the note 2 is more than a lot of laptops!

Q: Is this phablet too big to carry around?

A: No. Guys who can't fit this phablet in his pants are wearing pants so skinny their sperm production is messed up. Girls don't carry phones in their pocket/skirts. They always carry it in their handbags.

Q: Is this phablet too big for one handed usage?

A: No. If you use it one handed exclusively i.e trying to reach every edge of the screen using your thumb then yes. But the thing is nowadays smartphones demand more two handed usage(qwerty keyboard, web browsing, pinch to zoom, setting the camera and so on and so forth). Even people with smaller screen use it two handed (3.5in iphone) and Blackberry users also use theirs two handed. So what's the one handed operation for? Unlocking screen, picking up calls, watching movies, watching slideshows, snapping pictures quickly without meddling with the settings, all which can be done on this phablet with no problem. So, NO the phablet is not too big for one handed operation.

**Those who said this phablet is too big for one handed usage most probably have only one hand which forced them to type on the landscape qwerty one handed and pinch to zoom while holding the device in the same hand. LOL imagine that.
