Ok, nothing personal...its just I saw all of your points irrelevant or you trying to justify everything without even trying or experience Surface...
Let me go step by step:
1. Complete utter crap...
Neither your Xperia S nor iPad can run programs so why Surface RT is worse or inferior but the IE 10 can run all sites as your PC and you have same File Explorer to manage files, music and videos.
2. How can you say that, have you ever tried it???
Even lets say its not on par with our laptop or desktop keyboards but the cover is colourful, thin just like other tablet covers but but but.... it comes with extra functionality which is keyboard...
And most important thing MS is not forcing you to buy one.
3. Agreed, but better than iPad 2 and other Android devices. Bing any Surface review or comparison with other tablets/iPad.
4. This one I cant question because again its your personal opinion but being a Windows 8 user I am loving the GUI.
Just to let you know I do own iPad 2 and Surface.
I really loved my iPad but I have given it to my Dad as I found Surface more beautiful and attractive...

Has anyone got the Type cover? How does it fair? any wear and tear or is it as durable as they claim it to be? The touch cover's durability doesnt look so good..

Everyone has to just give Microsoft some time....Its their first device of this range and i guess they'll come up with more brilliant devices in time to come...

Hopefully, Microsoft will learn from it´s mistakes (like it has done in the past). As much as Vista was a flop, and W7 was a success, millenium flop, XP sucess. I´m hoping that W9 will amend the sins of W8. Namely, get rid of Windows RT, and metro interface. The idea of merging desktop and mobile is good, just they didn´t approach it correctly.

Having 2 OS, one mobile, other desktop, fine (with the aim to ultimately merge them). But having 3???
This Windows RT is a HUGE mistake.
The other HUGE mistake is the metro interface, whoever designed that should be sent to Siberia for life..

Very confusing product. It does not know what it wants to be. Its not a mobile tablet design .. not a full desktop replacement design .. it has part of everything but not all working. Confusing & conflicting gestures but innovative..
Even i confuse what target people they trying to sell.

Well in my opinion surface is better than the current crop of tablets. You need to let an ecosystem develop. I hear people whine about how it cannot run windows 8 apps but can others like android or ios do that? whining about not having macros and stuff in excel, do ios and android have it? It is a tablet after all not a full fledged laptop. Expecting features of a laptop in a tablet is wrong. It has a usb port which itself is a very important feature, you can quite easily hookup mice and keyboard to it if you want. The touch cover is better than typing on a touchscreen, it was never meant to replace a real keyboard. Android and ios didnt have millions of apps since day 1, 13000 apps to begin with is a good number. More over porting apps made for windows 8 to windows RT or even windows phone 8 is not that difficult so we may see some action here.

GSMArena - Office is not full!!! Excel does not run macros, and is useless for power users!!! This office package is not much different from quickoffice, doing all the basic stuff, but for real work you need a laptop.

I didn't like it very much.
First, we cam't use programs on it is a huge minus, what makes windows much better than others are the programs.
Programs are better then apps, If I I am gonna use apps then it is better to use Apple's or Google's.
Second, the keyboard isn't that good.
I hope in future they make a solution to the mouse like adding small one.
Third, the resolution is not that good.
Fourth, I feel that the new Modern UI (Metro) ,which I have seen in this review, is somehow complex and not simple as Android,IOS or Windows 7
I prefer to buy Sony's Xperia tablet which looks to me a better option as for price and they both have similar Hardware specifications.

More and more reviewers are not liking Windows 8! Google "Windows 8 bad"! I think Windows 8 is even far worse than Windows Vista! Windows 8 is not even compatible with existing hardware because many who try to "upgrade" their laptops end up with a "bricked" unusable laptop!
"Think you'll be able to watch all those Flash-based videos using your new RT computer? Well, think again. Flash will only run on sites approved by Microsoft."!

Surface has Microsoft Office, Adobe Flash, and better support of peripheries (mouse, keyboard, printers) because of the Windows NT kernel that is same as Windows 8.

Thats why they have to "pull" developer instead by giving this device for free

The only reason Surface tablet is appealing ( back then) was because someone made the hype about running x86 program on it and now that GSMarena already proven it cannot, well I'll pass. Pretty useless I think with 13k app, the only better choice would be getting the full-fledged Windows 8 tablet.
