While you think that people demand this kind of rubbish when in fact, is vice-verse, they produce all sorts of useless things to sell and their pockets to grow. I can assure you that. This is not for professional photographers (they will never use this overpriced crapp, even if it was 200 i don't think some photographer will buy this). This is not for gadget lovers (most are smarter to know that this is useless, and can be used only for decoration). This is for people thinking they need it cause it has Andoid (they are thought to think in a box, by the media), wow, what a innovation. Do you realize? It has Andoid! Now we can play in store and upload pics in facebook. Now that's pure innovation L-). So, this is for the mass. You buy it, use it 10 times, brag about the nothing new it does, then forget about it. Comes another, and you buy again, and so on. They make money, you make a collection of useless stuff. Now, i'd advise people, instead of buying anymore useless stuff, better to send money in Africa, or any other part of the poor world. So like this, you at least know that you have done something with those money. Something way more important and useful the a camera like this.

So does Samsung. In an overall Samsung is ahead at this point though

Colour contrast is blown off in the SGS3 and iP5 to please the consumer whereas the Nokia tend to keep to natural colors. Heck what does the Vivid function on the settings for the normal mode is already blown off. If you like Vivid colors just set it on the Nokia. Easy. What is not remediable is the detail quality of the picture not Nokia is lightyears ahead of the competition.

Android Man, 26 Jan 2013trouble is today. people demand so much and expect too much... moreAnd justify how nokia managed to put a large 1/1.2" sensor inside the 808? or even 1/1.8" sensor inside the n8? and those are still cheaper than the galaxy camera? The most reasonable spec for the galaxy camera for me would be single core processor(it's a camera duh), 4" screen, and the most important is minimum 1/1.8" sensor, along with the current zoom lens it will be a sold out. The price can be reduced as well. Oh I forgot they should put larger than 2000mah battery and trim some of the bulkiness. There, a perfect smart camera

trouble is today. people demand so much and expect too much. they expect hassleblad camera quality for peanuts. this camera is very good for its price. so dont knock it.

well samsung are innovators and are years ahead. so people might not understand the technology, and therefore shun it. me personally its an awesome idea. and think it will sell well. well done once again to samsung. genius at play.

My impression as a pro photographer.
This is a good camera for normal people who want to discover the world of photography.
I saw some flaw with this camera which is the position of the screen as what GSMarena try to say. The bezel of the screen should be thicker to prevent palm from touching or fiddling with the controls.
It would be appreciated if Samsung put in a fully articulating screen, less bezel on the top, bottom and at the left side of the camera. Samsung should restyle the lens hood. Make it round to make it available for external filters. Would that be great right?
But due to it pricey side, an alternative is a Canon SX50 with the same sensor size but with 50x zoom.

If this phone would have the same functionality as the S3 (including descent camera & calling) and used the extra space it gets for being thicker for battery purposes. I'd buy this for sure. It is the perfect combination.

On the 1st page, 1/2.3 sensor should be listed under main disadvantages.
They should have put a larger sensor to justify its size.
