Samsung Galaxy Camera review: Half-press to play

25 January 2013
We’ve been watching phones evolve at a breakneck pace with smartphones all but taking over, while cameras were stuck in the 20th century. Well, no more – the Samsung Galaxy Camera aims to stir the point-and-shoot market the way the iPhone did the...

Samsung should make it smaller and cheaper if they want this to be hit.
people with right mind wouldn't want to waste their money on this camera.

this camera has small sensor (the size is similar to a common sensor used in sub $200 P&S digicam) yet it has the price of DSLR.

monster, 25 Jan 2013with smaller sensor then samsung, nokia take very good pics! Have you tested it well or its just your hatred towards samsung?

Well I think this is to be compared with other cameras like lumix, CANONcamera etc not with NOKIA..nokia is a phone and this is not a phone.. I am testing it next week with other cameras..

Well, then maybe Nokia should start making digital camera with their old OS(instead of killing it, it's such a waste! )or maybe Windows. With the PureView technology and the PureMotion + HD. I'll definitely gonna buy one, I don't care if it's just a camera.

if you want the camera, with that amount of money, it's better to take canon g15 instead

or, if you want the connectivity it offers, better take smartphone such galaxy s family, iphone, pureview, or sony.

If you want the best of this two world, just get pureview 808. with the minus your support is now limited, as symbian now is dead

well...if it was a phone,i would buy it.or at least a camera with a smartphone functionality...is not that hard.a long time ao i saw a slim casio point and shoot, exilim i guess, and it was so preety and i thought:if only had a gsm module in it to be able to make phones,it will be all i want from a portable device(LG also had a tentative but it was not that good).I certanly believe they could put an micro-sim in it,,and it were perfect...but..this are grey-times in tech...untill someone will know how to combine best from any world and put in in a gadget, slim enough and portable

"Here's a scenario of what you can do with the Galaxy Camera. You can broadcast video live of an event (there are several apps that do this, including Google+ Hangouts on Air), even if you can't get close (e.g. you're sitting at the back row) and get a steady shot even if you have to zoom in thanks to the Optical Image Stabilization."

In events like that the lightning generally is not that good, and the zoom makes camera shake much more pronunced, not to mention that the lens aperture get really narrow the more you zooming in, I really doubt that the optical estabilization can help too much unless the lightning is VERY good (ie: day light)...
So don't get me wrong, but I really believe that this device is a complete fail...
