22 March 2013
Arguably one of the most exciting pieces of smartphone design in recent times, the HTC One is also properly powered and flaunts a screen that should please even the most demanding eyes...

Leaving aside the discussion oh how good the housing of HTC one is (I haven't yet seen one so I can't tell), I kinda enjoyed the discussion about coke cans against plastic bottles. I challenge you guys to the following contest: I well give you a plastic bottle of mineral water, say,Evian or Vittel, and I will take the coke can. We only have our bare hands to break the objects in our hands. The first one that breaks the container he holds is a winner.good luck :-D

        For photo quality comparison: http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=1&idPhone1=4967&idPhone2=4968&idPhone3=4238
        For video quality comparison: http://www.gsmarena.com/vidcmp.php3?idType=1&idPhone1=4967&idPhone2=4968&idPhone3=4238

Do some testings here, compare phone's cameras and then ask me the same question but at that time, I am sure you would have your answer :))

I'm always up for a debate, however more important things to do than debate negatives about HTC One.

Again respect your comments, I just think you can acknowledge positives from other manufacturers.

Sounds like this debate will go on with others.... enjoy :-)

What i have done is to point out the negative sides with the HTC One.

If you peoples can't tolerate that someone comes with some criticism on the HTC One, then you better join another forum / web page. Because here, everyone is free to say / tell everybody about the negative sides with a phone.

              It's that simple.

You obviously choose Samsung which is great for you, others will choose another brand.

Acknowledge the positives rather than focus than the negatives, as all phones will have both.

I have no loyalties to any brand, I guess everyone will have own reason to buy.

Some people can only wish to have such quality phones.

I also acknowledge Galaxy Note is good and may consider the new version when released.

I mentioned earlier I will compare all and make chice without criticising.

I respect your opinion but I do think you should respect others.

Don't feel like you need to retaliate to my comment, remember respect yours ;-)

No, I came here to express my admiration for this terrific phone, and you came here to polute discussion an to troll, and I am an idiot for going into further discussion with you. Ok it is time to stop. For me, as an end user, Samsung use CHEAP PLASTIC, for you it is diamond.

ROFLCOPTER, don't let the thin back cover fool you, because many are getting fooled by that.

Take a look here at the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy S II (that is not even out of polycarbonate, it's just normal plastic): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErXqnQKs-tA

                    And this one to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etsxu0OMqUQ

Polycarbonate is much much stronger than the normal plastic on the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Now, if you only can come here and tell lies and place false reasons here just to defend HTC, i reccomend you to stay away from this webpage.

                    Thank you.

Bulletproof glass, ok, maybe, but cheap plastic on the back of GS3 doesn't look bulletproof to me, on the contrary. It reminds me of yogurt bottles, it's white, it's cheap, it's almost transparent. Polycarbonate contains carbon atoms, but diamonds have them as well. So, does Samsung make phones of diamonds but we are all so stupid and we don't realize it? :) Cheap plastic for me, you call it gold, however.

Tom-Helge, 24 Mar 2013Not sure what planet you are from, but it's a good idea to ... moreIts made of anodized aluminum. Never question build quality in HTC.
The aluminum in One S was made of high grade aluminum used in satellites and it was the first time that a phone ever used a grade of aluminum with that much strength for its body. And One S wasn't even the flagship!

Human, 24 Mar 20131. Facts, PC is still a kind of plastic, nough said. 2. De... more1. OMG who fking cares that Polycarbonate is some kind of plastic when Polycarbonate is a bullet proof material.

That's the whole point that Polycarbonate is very strong, it's even stronger than aluminum.

Why do you think they use Polycarbonate in bullet proof glasses?

Yes, they use it so the glasses doesn't shatter when bullets hits the glass.

                          2. I think you should see this picture before you claim my arguments about the screens are false: http://tinyurl.com/cv7b5ky

But hey, just pretend that you know so much about screen technology when you in fact doesn't know anything about that.

                          5. Just because your contry are weird doesn't change the fact that removable battery option is a good thing to have.

Doesn't matter what you say, an extra battery for your phone is much better than having an external battery brick plugged to your phone just to get extra power.

Good luck taking pictures, recording videos, playing games and so on with a brick of a battery pack hanging after your phone.

The polycarbonate in Lumia 900 and 920 is much much thicker than S4 and its also a unibody not separable body so the entire unit isnt as strong. That's the sole reason why Lumia 920 was so darn heavy.Compare the heft of the 920 and S4 and you'll know how thick polycarbonate has been used. If you are talking about strength then thickness really matters and we all know how thick that plastic material is likely to be.
S4 build quality will be bad and you will probably need a strong cover for it,Period.

And yes, about pentile matrix, seeing pixels on a 600€ high-end phone? I have that bitter experience on my GS3 - no thanks, never again. They said that at such density pixels shouldn't be visible, but they are, and I don't believe them anymore and will never go for a display which has the word "pentile" in it.

markoko, 24 Mar 2013It is plastic, let me spell it for you: P-L-A-S-T-I-C. If y... moreNot sure what planet you are from, but it's a good idea to understand English. Welcome to earth?

And i don't know why you don't understand that Polycarbonate is not normal plastic.

Yes, it's some kind of plastic. But it's a very strong plastic that is used in bullet proof glasses.

Unibody aluminum is also aluminium. It can even be cheap aluminum made out of the same aluminum as the beer cans are made out of.

So your stupid argument that Polycarbonate is plastic is just trroolololol when the aluminum on the HTC One can be out of cheap beer can aluminum.

It is plastic, let me spell it for you: P-L-A-S-T-I-C. If you think it's better than aluminium then maybe they should make phones by using thick paper. It's cheaper, more prone to scratching than PLASTIC on Samsungs, and I expect that to be the next step in their evolution. And their fanboys will be happy with it because there will be written on it SAMSUNG, they will come here and tell us it is better than any premium material.
And here is the definition of polycarbonate with which you are so proud with: "Polycarbonate is a versatile, tough plastic used for a variety of applications...". Anyone noticed the word PLASTIC? :)

Again, just to point out the thing with pentile screens as someone whines about here. Take a look at this picture that shows the new type of pentile screen that is used in Galaxy S IV: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7309753/Bilder/gsmarena_004.jpg
