Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. HTC One: Army of two

26 March 2013
Two phones carrying such a weight of expectations that one would think they’d have no time and energy to worry about each other. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has to outsell the S III and the HTC One is...

Display on s4 is bit dimmer compare to one, right now I'm using gnote 2 and gnex and I'm going to try the one.

Atleast this time Samsung is not wiping the floor with other flagships.
But the two reasons I bought the s4 were
    1. No sd card slot one htc
    2. It's still not f'n available in my country

It is clear, GSMARENA declares HTC ONE the winner based on their last sentence...
The winner? How about /b the one /b with name on it.

Good read, I'm quite sure both the Galaxy S4 & HTC One will do well within their respective fan base. However, they are both terribly expensive, and do I really need all those extra bells & whistles. HTC One 4mp camera, non replaceable battery and no SD card slot is still a major concern for me. There is a valid reason why I need expandable memory for my business so to my eyes the Galaxy S4 is the better choice I guess but in the end the SONY Xperia Z better suits our business needs at a far cheaper price. So far I'm very pleased with my choice, the Sony Xperia Z does everything I want.

Im not fan of big phones but HTC One wins for design and also +1 for the front stereo speakers..

..for GS4 it wins for slightly larger screen, removable battery and micro sd slot..

I dont care about the camera for both..

I wont buy any of this flagship phone devices because razr i somehow fits all my needs currently.. =)

The only I regret 'bout the Galaxy series are the capacitive button on the bezel. I've always accidentally touch it while on video streaming from the web,
that's why I'm going to get the htc one and give my gnote 2 to my wife. Amoled is cool but bit dimmer vs slcd.
Maybe another year when samsung make their flagship phone with on screen control (like my galaxy nexus), dual stereo speaker, plus fm radio.

Clearly, S4 coming with no significant differences as their older sister S3. I decided to choose XperiaZ.

I still feel the UI is smoother on HTC one, even with the lower specs.. Maybe S4 too much bloatware?

                                    wow, lot of comments here.

if I have to choose, S4 any day.
but I don't mind if someone give me HTC One for free. :)

but currently I'm more interested with Asha 501 & Lumia 520.
so samsung & htc, I'm looking forward for your flagship next year :D

Hardwares comparison : Tie. This is by no means a goalless draw, though - From a pure design standpoint, the HTC One wipes the floor with the Samsung Galaxy S4. The One is the phone to be seen with, it looks more expensive if you will. The Galaxy S4 on the other hand is deliberately underplaying the looks - as if to say that what matters is on the inside.

I don't quite agree. To me Samsung Galaxy S4 design look, feel more elegance and more expensive than HTC One. Not to mentioned S4 was more practical in design.

The One just a very plain metal body with curve back that rocking on many surface, a failure from the design point of view for a cellphone. Furthermore it will look bald when time goes by. Even Apple considered a flat back with curve side only to make their deceivingly thinner but still practical in everyday usage.

From design point of view, a pratical design is more important than just plain metal or what material use. The End!

You want a proper test then check Anandtec... moreI used to like Anandtech but they fell of about a year ago, I think their Nexus 7 review was the last good one. They make tests, but their reviews are mostly their opinions and preferences as well. They judge phones on how much they liked it. Camera tests are often biased, they don't even have a comparison tool like GSMArena does.
