26 March 2013
Two phones carrying such a weight of expectations that one would think they’d have no time and energy to worry about each other. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has to outsell the S III and the HTC One is...

Does this review comparison include the new HTC One software update that you reported yesterday that improves the camera? Thanks.

S4 should be exempted. Htc One and xperia Z must beat first the s3. U know, htc and sony try their best to top the S3 then here comes the s4. Htc,sony and nokia seems left behind again. Goodluck apple.

HTC is never in this game. HTC is just name-dropping. they knew they will lose. but now they earn some spotlight. you all just fall for it.

The HTC One is the best camera phone in low ligth. Why? Because the with the GS4 "You'll have to snap several photos to make sure you have a good one". With the One the camera is reliable. So almost any kind of photos does to try several times (kids, sport, wildlife, instant portrait....)

[deleted post]Dude, take it from a die hard HTC fanboy. The One's camera was never made or even intended to beat other camera phones. It's purpose is to take the best, fastest picture possible and transmit it at the best possible time.

This is important for taking fast moving pictures with its image stabilization, like sports events or even your kid's recital in a dark theater or something and uploading it to Facebook or Instagram or twitter without waiting for either one of them to scale it down and completely messing up your perfectly taken 12mp image. What you see on your phone is what you'll be getting on FB.

If you want to take pics to print out on a large poster for your business, you'll most definitely need the S4, or better yet a DSLR camera. But if you're the average joe FB user, the HTC One will be perfect.

Ps. I know perfectly well that some people will say "image stabilzation" is handled best with a nokia, but i think its safe to say that fans of both Samsung and HTC (even Apple) will agree with me in sayin that nokia and wp can just suck it.

The only S4 variant I'd buy is the dual sim version. NOW THAT IS BOSS! That is only ''if'' i find one. In the mean time, its HTC One or bust.

hater can keep hating and the s4 will keep beating em all.

A fair review and a much needed one in this year's dawn race although I would suggest to add Xperia Z into the ring. I hope iPhone will also come out with something outstanding to hold their line. The winner for me is the upcoming iPad mini 2 with, like the review suggest, my name engraved in the back. Larger screen, familiar ecosystem, more convenient to take notes, edit my reports, excel and presentation.

Amaaaazing comparo! It showed both the strengths and weaknesses of both phones!!! I love how companies are moving to improve battery life. I am still going for the HTC One because of the build quality, and knowing exactly how it stacks up with the samsung gs4 makes me want it even more! Kudos to GSMArena!

when i was confused between the S3 and the htc one x last year, i have seen a review on this site saying The same thing about these two devices.
and That is why i am gonna buy the HTC one
i regret buying the S3 which have a quad core processor and yet it is still slow when pressing the power button, phone and messaging.
guys these are the most important things in a mobile phone.

I have no such doubts in my mind its gottabe the Galaxy S4 or nothing for me.
My reason for arriving at this decision is plain and simple - non-removable battery, a no no :(

I think GSM arena SHOULD HAVE first did the review of the galaxy S4 first before doing this comparison
