I had an S3 since about 8 months ago and I now have an HTC One. I think it's the best phone I've ever used. Of course, it's not perfect. But the deciding factor for me to get it over the S4 are the design and speakers. To me, the only REAL advantage of the S4 are the camera and the removable battery. The camera of the One is not bad enough to really go for the S4. And as for the battery, an external powerpack solves that problem.
Hey, just like with your wife/husband, do you really want to see an ugly thing when you wake up in the morning... or do you want to see a thing of beauty? You decide.

Weather you l... moreDespite of how good Galaxies may be, the looks is terrible, i hate it and gonna hate it till they make a more serious design and premium materials. The only samsung which i loved was galaxy s giorgio armani which was damn overpriced back then, just because was the only which didn't look like shit. So an Htc one or Xperia z would be far better than s4, even if have more weaknesses. People buy expensive Prada and Armani things just for the looks, and a phone is an accessory which you are so often seen around with. If s4 was a polished design of sgsga it would be a winner.

To all naive trolls...mostly Sony and HTC.
Weather you like it or not the S4 is obviously way better. That's just simple fact. But it's expected. Samsung is a top end chip and electronics producer. They makes some of the best stuff and many companies use the parts and chips. It's not some conspiracy to make you hate or become enraged with jealousy. Yet everyone wants to hate and be jealous. Samsung suck this or that. Z better this or One better that.
Like were whatever you like. Variety is amazing and just because S4 is better does not meanwe are saying others are bad, ddon't come close, or that you have to prefer/get it. It's just got more hardware software development weather you can accept it or not.
It's also not ugly weather you can except that or not too. And in fact while it's not the best looking around the simple rounded shape looks pleasing and works in your hand. From the front it's easily better looking than the Z. Design is preference though. Nor is polycarbonate cheap weather you are mature enough to accept that fact either is up to you. Same as the rest of the facts you all can't face. And frankly the Moto Droid Razr is the phone for looks. It beats them all by miles.
Hands down fact is it's better, not ugly, not cheap, and it's features are absolutely not useless. Dual camera, No touch answer calls and text, work with glove, remote, video pause/play. They are convenient and handy. And like it or not that Amoled screen can do everything the LCD can and more. It's only a few percent of 100% accuracy.
To the Sammy trolls. There really is not many. It's mostly jealous haters. And Sony trolls have reached isheep status. First the few there are though you need to stop going around giving others a reason to falsely bash and accuse.

all hail the great plasitc S4, you are like a god of all phones with your premimum plastic, hopefully I can soon trade in my car for all plastic model due to fear of aluminimum, no more automobiles, aircraft, trucks, railway cars, marine vessels, bicycles for me due to fear ,return my nintendo and no more donkey kongs out of fear, no more pop cans due to fear, remove antenna from tv now no more tv out of fear,had to remove heat sync from ps3 no more sly cooper out of fear, no more outer shells of consumer electronics out of fear, also cases for equipment photographic equipment out of fear, you win S4 is best phone ever becuase is noes not use very extreme danger super danger aluminimum due to fear :(

And from 400 millions cellphones sold worldwide in Q1 2013 more than 350 millions are made out of plastic. See you have no idea what people like the most.

I haven't touched neither yet, but i expect s4 to be of slightly better performance and more things you can do with it, however regarding both are more than i need powerful devices, of course i would choose htc one, it looks gorgeous, it has excellent metal cover, its feel in the hand is awesome, yes, the looks is important for me.

Power key on the top left of HTC One is the worst place it can be; and no physical Home button as alternative to wake up; HTC One not for me. When I compare this with S4's amazing list of geeky things, One feels like a feature phone.

there z no demand of htc one in my country coz it was announced even before S4 n still is unavailable here n therefore most of the people who planned to buy one are buying S4 and thus galaxy S4's demand is increased to such a high level that samsung has decided to manufacture the device here itself... poor htc one... rest in peace... just like ur companies previous devices... hope u make aluminium phones in future too so that if today u announce ur device, it will be available on the next year when other companies will announce their next flagship :p;) its a no wonder y u r a failed company despite having good products...
