16 April 2013
The Lumia 520 completes the roll call for Nokia’s second generation of Microsoft-powered smartphones. Statistically, this means that every step of their product line, from 5** all the way to 9**, has been backed up by a fresh WP8...

Windows phone is a much nicer platform with a better base. Nokia couldn't have beaten Samsung with Android, Samsung had gained too much of a lead. Nokia is the king of the still growing Windows Phone. They fill in any gaps Microsoft have made in the OS, and it's made a series of great phones to use.

If Nokia had chosen android 3 years back it would have become market leader by now. windows platform is worst than symbian, so limited so restricted it gives no freedom to phone maker as well as no freedom to phone user in it's present form it will not become leader in any market segment there are plenty of androids available in all segments.

I really wish this was a wee bit more expensive but with a wee bit larger battery and a ClearBlack display, Windows phone really comes into its own on a beautiful screen.

recently bought this phone and love it though has some minor annoyances( i am not an advanced user)

1)no separate ringtone/multimedia volume control.missed many calls due to this.
2)long press to forward music.should have a slider
          3)no notification panel
          4)settings are just too basic.

Apple adds it's own optimisations to the SoC, which increase performance. Above that, you're dodging the bullet of Optimus G vs Nexus 4 results. Optimus G does not come with all sorts of speed-optimisations over the Nexus 4, results however, are day and night difference, where they should not. Feel free to find a better excuse for that, other than the one I handed already.

When u ask the same q woth their flagship they will say who needs it, its a smartphn....smartphn my @@s ......last few days sony, htc and now nokia is makin rippples felt everywhere i luv these companies for their innovation and verstality specially nokia. And even lg is nt bad vith smthn new and improved....... What if this phn carried 512 mb ram....i bet under 15k nt even a single cmpany like htc, sony, sammy, lg will give u dualcore vid more then 512mb ram...if u really wanna compare then compare this phone with ur so called galaxy y, ace etc within its price range.....i tnink its a win wi situation for windows starter like me. U may wonder how iPhone 5 with only dual core performs so better than dual core android then again answer is apple optimises their software same with windows phone. But it's not possible wit. Android coz android is not made for a specific hardware so very little optimization plus it runs on vvirtual java machinery which itself requires a lot of power that's why even quad core android lags....

X, 17 Apr 2013He he, Unlimited Nokia music subscription! Good one:). I'll... moreFace time!!!!! Dude are you delirious??? Face time is a feature of ios which doesn't even run on 3gs which incidentally was double the price of 520 when it was discontinued.... Facetime is just a fancy name for video calling that too just over wifi that too just b/w ios users, useless crap ......
Regarding the link these two smartphones were more than double the price of lumia when they were discontinued.....

Seems like u know nothing about smartphones and their changing trends and came here just for trolling.....

Now speaking about ACTUAL features of a smartphone unlimited music subscription is a very useful one... U can save 30-40 bucks every month... My friend with iPhone shells out around 1buck for every song... Lol.... And 520 is a dedicated sat nav which in market costs around 300to 400 bucks with yearly navigation fees...... Nokia is giving these two amazing services free of cost which themselves is more than the cost of phone itself.......

Again think with whatever little brain u have before u say something

Lumia 520 beats nexus 4 and s3 in sunshine and ... moreOne thing those benchmarks show, is how crappy they actually are, giving erratic results. Explain how the difference between Nexus 4 and Optimus G can be so huge, while they actually use exactly the same hardware and the Optimus G has a close to stock Android ROM. There is no logical explanation possible, other than that the benchmarks can do weird stuff without it being clear why.

You can't go wrong with this. I'm sorry, but Android has had it's day. It's multi layered and bloated, compared to WP8.

WP8 is looking more and more attractive, and this is just an entry level device. If they can market it to many countries, then Nokia will erode Android from the low end market and creep to the top.

the price of Lumia 520 in the Philippines is only Php 7,580.

What a great price and simply affordable.
