MdN, 16 Jul 2013Agreed, the S4 camera is the first phone camera to match th... mores4 not even comes close to 808 in any department of imaging...maybe you are talking about s4 zoom which matches 808 in low light and beats it in macro...but it has the advantage of OIS....1020 has almost as big sensor as 808 that too BIS,and it even adds OIS(3-axis unlike the 2-axis one in zoom and htc one),so this is ought to take better images in every possible condition...

CazeW, 14 Jul 2013I must say I was slightly dissappointed of the sample photo... moreI also think they should put back the 8MP option.
But so many reviewers used the 8MP mode for their reviews, despite the fact that Nokia kept stating that the best effect will be reached in 5MP mode.
Even Dpreview used 8MP mode.
It should perhaps come with a clear warning and be activated from a special menu.

The Glance Screen facility is available in a normal scratch resistant screen of Asha 501. Why is not happening in Lumia 520,620 and 720?
If the company is readt to compete in the market, why cant they adopt new features in the newly released phones? For example, when you swipe down from the top of the screen in Asha 501, we will get the connectivity shortcuts screen. On the other hand in 520Lumia, I have to downlaod a third party connectivity tool app. Anyway, Asha 501 has borrowed its design from Lumia series. Similarly, Lumia can get inspired by Meego Asha new OS. The swipe close feature is brilliant in Asha 501. If it has 1Ghz processor and minimum 512 MB RAM in the next version,it would surely be a hit in the market.
Nokia doesnt have to adopt Android, instead, they can develop the latest Asha into a classy smartphone along with developments of windows phone.
The windows phone features are perfectly fine for phones like 520,620 and 720. But, when you pay high like $735, we are getting an additional camera. I own one 520Lumia costs around 9500 INR and if i get one Canon 1100 D DSLR ( 28.000 INR), my uses are done by the same price.
If Lumias are coming up with higher prices, let them make some differences too ( other than camera). Differences like customizations. WE dont need million apps. They could have made Lumia 1020 with purview tech of 13 MP, 1080p screen, water and dust resistant.
Let's wait for that special Lumia device.
Cheers \0

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2013Nokia screwed up the 920's noise reduction algorithm so tha... moreAgreed, the S4 camera is the first phone camera to match the Nokia N8 camera (which I own) except no Xenon and a bit worse in low light. In some situations it can even match the 808. Even AllAboutSymbian confirmed it. You're right about the 920, however it has OIS, and people who used it for several months say that they consistently get good photos with it, almost every time, while with other phones you have to be careful about light, exposure, hands shaking, taking a photo 3 times to make sure you got it right etc, etc.

vitta, 13 Jul 2013Wake up guys Samsung s4 camera is matchless to Nokia lum... moreNokia screwed up the 920's noise reduction algorithm so that the detail levels were very inconsistent. The S4 takes very good photos, with good colors and a lot of details. The S4 has a better camera than the Lumia 920, (as well as the iPhone 5, HTC One etc.)

Even though my 620 has a removable battery, I had only once removed that too insert my sim card. Must disagree to a point . Yes WP8 is just about useable for we power users ; or would be if the Amber update were here...
The 1020isn't an option for me as I'm on T-Mobile , but even if it were , I wouldn't get it ! Sure you have 32 GBs but if you usde the cam much , u will need aDditional space . That said , the 64 Gb option might work ..
Neither does the 1020 have a removable batteery , another major fail for a camera king pgone. . There's the camera grip , but at $79 , that very expensive for a spare battery , even one that offers a grip ! Especially one that only offers 1020 mAh ! .
I think the 808 PV is the better option , it offers a removable battery , micro sd and it's pentaband , all requured fr a camera phone king ! Not to forget thhst the 808 also runs on Nokia Belle Refresh , a more powerful and useful OS if u know the drilb Oh and Nokia is also working on the Asha platform . Cheers !
