OIS can only improve "handshake" problem. It will never compensate any lack of detail & megapixel. HTC One can't even come close to the fine detail of an 8MP camera. This "cheaper" HTC One Mini is like a sheep in a cage with a lion when compare to the S4 Mini ;)

HTC, Blackberry & Nokia should merge together so they can compete with Samsung, Sony & Apple.
Again, HTC One Mini is not a "mini" phone. It's a huge phone. And please stop mentioning Sony SP & ZR because those are practically bigger & heavier phones too.

Its too big and thick anyway, not much of a mini, thanx to its thickness it feels as big as Z.

I get the S4 Mini display part in the Final Words, very low ppi, but lets not forget the 1GB RAM of HTC one, thats a serious performance disadvantage. 16GB (minus space taken by OS and Sense bloat) rules out multimedia, battery life is pathetic (im too nice, i know). Now add the terrible camera, even for social media its a failure, and did i mention the horrible 2 button system? Not that Samsung has good buttons, the longpress on Home for running tasks is antiquated at best and seriously slows things down, highly inefficient, but beats the two HTC buttons still.
I dont know if i ever saw a phone lose so badly to its competitor as the One Mini did here, yet the Final Words try to pull it up and very conveniently steers clear of its disadvantages at the end.

I think Xperia ZR is better than both. ZR is a flagship phone in a compact shell not these two.

right now s4 mini has problem with drain battery because cpu don't enter in full deep sleep,
this is confirmate by the patch create in CM10.1 alfa for s4 mini

AnonD-168372, 15 Aug 2013It's surprising that S4 mini beats HTC One mini.Why? The S4 is comparable/marginally better than the HTC One mini in most areas, and it's smaller, has a better battery and a much better camera, and it's cheaper. So it's, objectively speaking, better overall.

Great article, since camera is very important to me in a smartphone, I'd pick the S4 mini among those two. And 4.3" screen size is just right for me.

Ive noticed that GSMArena always go back and keep talking about the plastic of samsung phones. Yes we know already. Still at least its faster, i for one dont really care about looks, its the inside what counts.
