Hi peeps,
I use galaxy note and I would love to try my hands on the New Ativ S windows phone for reasons;

1. Light weight
2. Camera button
3. High bit-rate
4. Stronger Battery than SIII
5. Expensive....cheap is useless...ahahah

Actually. Android is one of the worst for lagging, freezing and programs just quiting not to mention that half the apps don't work on half the phones due to droid being tailored to manufactorer of phones. Windows is doing right by following apple in controlling more of the os. and apple? well overpriced, ancient objective c code....

......seriously, why not call it an "Omnia 8"? Or, if they want to retire the Omnia name, then why not call it a "Galaxy 8". This is really bugging me.

Why did they give potentially the best phone in the world the worst name in the world? Unfortunately for Samsung the name does matter. Can you imagine people talking about how they just bought their ATIV S? It sounds like an off-road vehicle, not a phone! Its frustrating that something so simply to get right may have an affect on the popularity of this awesome phone. I'm still buying one though :)

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2012No it won't support LTE and 4G, but keep in mind 4G is far ... moreThanks buddy! - I too believe the 4G/LTE medium is just another new marketing tool, although i do feel that it will be much faster and connection over the LTE/4G would be more stable and reliable, I ams sure it will be just as slow once every Tom Dick and Harry gets on board.

As for Windows phones, I have used Windows Mobile 6 on HTC/XDA Orbit 2 and loved the ease of use and the Windows UI, I am dissapointed having waitied for a new Iphone 5 - which was a let down, now firmly back in the Windows phone corner, I can see from the outset the Samsung Ativ S will be a powerful and excellent phone.

Craven, 06 Oct 2012 ATIVS is likely to become the best selling (in long ru... moreI agree on the other parts, but it really doesnt have a good build quality. I saw the GSMarena hands on and I cringed when I saw him take off teh back cover and bend it.

Sure, these are light, but it comes at the expense of materials. Sure, in the end Lumia 920 and ATIV S are both "plastic phones", but hte difference is so big that there is no comparison. It's like a frame of a Glock-pistol and plastic bag are both plastic, but one will go to hell and back and the other will offer little to no protection.

But it comes down to what you value and prefer, I'm not saying the ATIV is a bad phone by any means, it definitely has it's positive sides but the build quality of this and a Nokia are from so different worlds and I couldnt really call this one well built, or at perhaps well built, but the materials are just horrible.

Why does this phone not have 4G LTE capabilities. I want to buy this phone when it comes out, but without 4G, sadly it's a definite no-go.

If this phone goes on all carriers but Sprint, it'll be the best selling Windows phone. Nokia blew it by going with AT&T only on the 920.

ATIVS is likely to become the best selling (in long run) wdp8 smartpone with..........strong quality built, rich features + lower price for all customers.

Ibrahim, 03 Oct 2012Will this phone be LTE/4G compatible? No it won't support LTE and 4G, but keep in mind 4G is far from being implemented depending on your country, and the Ativ S can still go up to 42mb/s via 3G (LTE is 100mb/s).

With a steady 1 Mb/s connection you can already stream any videos on youtube in 720p without waiting for buffering, so 100Mb/s is totally overkill for most users.

LTE and 4G are just the new marketing arguments to get those who don't really know what it's all about to buy the "latest" thing.

Given windows phone 8 is your thing, and you don't want a Nokia photo phone, the Ativ S is the best offer feature wise.

ATIV S preference over lumia 920 for the following reasons
= grant looking metallic body frame.
= larger inbuilt memory + expandable memory facility.
                                = users replaceable stronger battery.
= lager HD screen with optimum weight.
                                = FM radio with RDS
= low SAR/radiation system of Samsung smartpone.
= expected availability of ATIVS phone in the local markets (at cheaper price) will be much earlier than lumia 920 could do, due to Samsung strong marketing outlets and distributors support.
