I’m looking at buying a D500 as it looks great and has had quite good reviews the only thing putting me off (as stupid as it sounds) is the T9 predictive text, on previous Samsung’s I have never been able to add words (slang words, place names etc) to the phones dictionary which is a real pain when using predictive test, does anyone know if you can do save words to the dictionary on this phone?

Believe me there are too many phone manufactuers out there, by this time next year at least one of the big companies will have sold their interest in the mobile phone market because they cannot complete. Watch out - SAMSUNG - is coming and they are gonna blow away Nokia, Sony E, Motorola and the rest. The D500 represents just the start Samsung will continue to improve as this model demonstrates and the big companies are running scared!

Somebody who wrote this post "This phone doesnt have some of the basic features that my Moto E365 have.. Alarm doesnt work when switched off. No auto power ON OFF. NO voice dial or command Stupid phone!!!" Obviously does not know too much about the D500.
He is wrong in some ways! Firstly the D500 does have the alarm that works when the phone is switched off, and it does have auto power on and off. Cmon, this issue was fixed way back with the E700 so i dunno why he posted it.
The only truth in that post is that the D500 does not have voice dial or commands. We already know this, thats why there is going to be the D500E.

I have this phone, and would like to answer to all you misinformed ones in here. Yes, you can send anything you want with the bluetooth. Someone wrote about not getting his numbers from windows. Sorry to say, but if you can´t use computers and phones, please do not blame this suberb device. I haven´t got any problems transferring ANY files from and to my phone, saving perhaps one bluetooth dongel, Belkins model, don´t remember what it was, but Belkin is the brand.
Everybody keeps complaining about the lack of memory slot. Yeah, they could have made it, but who cares? For me 96 mb memory is enough because you can always change songs. I do believe that each of you whiners have computers ´cause you are here complaining, am i right?
Someone also complained about this phone having room for only 200 messages. Again, who gives a freakin damn!? Do you really, really like to store over 200 messages? Why? I personaly don´t and will not have bigger-than-life-messages in my phone and if i´d have, then i could transfer them via bluetooth to my computer. Please complain about something meaningfull, would you?
There are two things that are somewhat odd in this phone. First: I can´t understand, why you can´t copy your number from your phone to your SIM-card all at once? You have to do it one by one, and that´s really annoying. Samsung, what´s the purpose!?!?! Second is the capacity of the battery. It´s lousy! Fortunately there´s going to be better battery in markets soon. That´s the first thing to buy for this phone.
Someone also asked about continuing video recording. Sorry can´t do that. I just tried it and it didn´t work, or mayby i can´t use this either.
The thing that i like the most in this phone is great design and fantastic screen! Man the screen is awesome! Slide is also really smooth and T9 works better than in any other Samsung phones that i´ve ever used, and i have had almost all of them.
This is the best phone that i´ve ever had.
I also had Nokia 6230, the phone that many of you compared D500. Nokia does have better specifications, but D500 is just so damn cool! I would never change this back for Nokia, never.
