I admire this phone, yet a couple of flaws and disadvantages of it:
1) There is a somewhat limited pattern of movement of files (i.e. pix, clips, mp3s, other sounds, etc.) between folders, you can do some basic predefined movements, but you cannot move ANY file to ANY folder like e.g. in 6230i. I believe this is not a major flaw, but anyway ...
2) There is no way to password-protect files and folders with regard to opening, I wish there was a way to do that like in PCs, it would help ...
3) No multitask support is certainly a flaw.
4) Ascending ring tone as the only option is not very pleasant, the holder should be provided with the choice to either set ascending or normal. This is just like in 6230i. Rather undesirable especially when an MP3 is set as the ring tone, the beginning of which is an "important section" of that music track.
5) No full-screen viewing of pictures whereas videos are played full-screen.
Other than these minor points I like this phone very much.

The phone is quite a good quality one, it's screen is clear and you virtually cannot see any pixels on it.m The loudspeaker sound quality is not as good as some phones as there is some distortion when the phone volume is the highest. The phone cannot multitask, it is not compatible with samsung's own MMF ringtone format and since its screen resolution is 240 by 320 pixels alot of samsung applications cannot be downloaded onto the phone. How I wish it had downloadable software and could support more formats for download. Is there any free video software to change DVD or video formats to MP4 or 3GP that the phone can support? And is there phone software that can enable the phone to support OGG format or more PDA functions? Please tell me. Or is there a way to flash the firmware of the phone into a PDA one like symbian or Linux that can support the screen resolution? Thanks!

THE only thing i dount like abote this phone is that it cant do 2 things at the same time like going thrue the menu while on call or listenning to mp3s its fine at least this phonerecords mp4 video ,mp3 player with stereo headsets 2mp camera with tv out cable plug it in to the toe tv in youre room or in the lcd screen in a car enny tv or screens within youre room or in the lcd screen in a car enny tv or screens with the tv in youre room or in the lcd screen in a car enny tv or screens with rca input Voila

I live in New Jersey (U.S.). I ordered my D600 from New York City and my software version ends with a J4. That's weird if my phone came from Europe?! The hardware command didn't work so I still don't know what version my hardware is based on. Is there or will there be a newer firmware upgrade anytime in the future for all software versions for the D600? If there will be, what will be the advantages? Thanks in advance!

and k3 and A4 is the version of D608, the Chinese official version. If anyone else knows software version a lot about D600, please share with us. Here's another command, which will show u the hardware version and build-in software version also, *#8377466#

anyone who has D600 or D608 please type in *#1234# and tell us the version of ur phone. For now we've had K4, K7, and J5. Actually a lot of guys on another blog have j3,k3,A1,A4,and k4. It's the first time i saw K7 and J5!! J means the phone is from Europe!

I just typed in those commands again, and they both worked. One said "USA MMS is applied" and the other one said "USA WAP SETTING". Maybe you have to open MMS service from ur service provider, and use another phone with your sim card to try if it's able to send MMS. If it is only ur phone that doesn't work, then maybe your should check with samsung service center. (P.S. those commands can only be applied in the U.S.;in other countries they also can be applied, for example, in China it would be *2767*86927# and *2767*86667#)

I forgot to say that the flashlight is very strong. The colors of the display are awsome, also the resolution. If somebody has problems with software, please write me. Thanks.

Hello. I am from Bulgaria. I bought a Samsung D600 3 months ago. I am very disappointed about software. It hangs very often or phone restarts without reason during recarge, for example. It is hard to make the usb connection work at all. The TV-out doesn't work in java mode and sometimes the display doesn't turn on when I unplug tv connection. The phones restarts even when I try to initialize the camera. I don't know why it is on this way, but I will give it back to the shop for reinstalling. The video recording is very good, the quality of camera also. The audio out is quite good for the telephone. I liked the equalizer effects. I really don't know why this phone doesn't use symbian.

does anyone know why the video footage on the E730 is better than that of the D600? considering the D6oo has more mega pixels would have expected it to be better. Seems to take longer to focus so it won't pick up movement very clearly

Well this phone roxs it has all the functions plus the shrpness of the mp3 is beyond oblivion though a litle low on bass!
wel the phone is good but i wanted to ask...
i recently got some scratches on th screen which i relly dnt likeas it spoils the view of the fun and its style. can anyone suggest the sollution of what to do like changing the top screen or getting it cleaned???? :S

I tried to see a MMS message but I can't and no one can send me anything. It keeps saying "unknown describer". I tried *2767*1927# and *2767*1667# and it doesn't let me.. it just let me put it but it does like this *2767*----# can anyone help me??
