declan: Screen is big for its size. it already covers >50% of the phone... 240X320 how big can u possibly want?

kenny: the videos have to be in proper file formats. use the PC studio to transfer, they will tell u on the spot if they are readable. save them to the correct folders to get that prompt. as in video to video folder.

as for the word and pdf, i dont see y it cant open, as it should open any version. it works fine for mine. no idea how to help u there. try using the studio to do it.

Foods: Turn it off if u cant charge it straight away. A Li-polymer battery sucked dry WILL have its life span reduced drastically. And as u should know they are very expensive to replace.

this is a top notch phone. i got it yesterday and it is one of the best phones i have owned. The video and picture quality is superb, the battery life is not the best, but thats down to the fact that i have used it non stop. Great phone , reccomended to everybody.

A very nice phone which I got because MTN seem to have some issues with Sony Ericsson and had been promising release of teh SE K750i every month since June 2005. Now I've been told it's March 2006. So I gave up and got the Samsung D600 instead.

I'm very pleased with it; just one problem though: unlike the D500, the D600 model cannot as yet retrieve e-mails from a mailbox at intekom.co.za. There seems to be a protocol problem somewhere in the system. I've been involved with lots of troubleshooting with Telkom and Samsung (MTN don't seem to be interested) and I was told this week that Samsung are now working on it with Telkom.

Hopefully the problem will be sorted out soon, although it's been a month since I got the handset and it's still not sorted out. Hold thumbs!

                    merbyn:
                    to set as mass storage
                    menu->settings->phone settings->usb settings->mass storage

or get a tflash/microSD card with a card reader.

the d600 is an amazing phone people,

the resolution and pure quality of the screen is unbelievable. the camera and video recording capability is fantastic. when i take photos of my mates at a party and show them, 100% of the time they are blown away and ask me what phone it is.

As they say "nothing is perfect" though:

1)u cant view ur pics in full screen. ???. (you can only see it full screen right after you take a pic, and thats when you are blown away with its quality [screen and photo])

2)ur mmses cant be larger than 300kbs(I dont know if this is only in South Africa, can someone tell me if this is the case world wide?)

3)the clock doesnt stay on when in power-save mode (screen saver) and you have to push and hold the side volume button to see the clock, further more, you have to press OK to see if you have a message or missed call.

                            4) My previous phone was a Sony P800, so I was spoiled with its ablity to surf the internet. the d600 browser is not great but it is better than all the other non-PDA phones out there.

dont get me wrong, I am convinced that this is the best phone on the market today (09/DEC/2005) and if I had to start naming all the great things about it, it would take me all day.

                            nothing else compares really...

Software is too slow. Set the phone to mass storage to transfer or buy a microSD/transflash card and a card reader for it. Tranfer would be faster that way

Reason why its not a regular plug cause the tv out is comming form the same plug

greg: yes, you can assign different ringtones for every person. the number must be on the phone instead of on the sim card.

sean90: battery life is expected. Its a phone not a mp3 player, not a camera. If you have everything going it kills ur battery life. You can get 3 days of normal talk time, but if i wanted to, i can drain the battery in a day. You can record prob 1hr, transfer the vid to the expansion card and record again. It doesnt record directly to the expansion memory. Reason why is it takes too long to write on the microSD/transflash.

kerry: D600 is droping really fast. its like 385 at plemix.com factory unlocked.

claire: Just edit the pictures with your computer to 240x320 pixel, then the picture will come out full screen. D600 cant edit pictures or not to my knowledge.

I am sad that it does not have a regular plug for headphones. It has a wierd samsung one. And what kind of phone does not have voice dialing. Why have bluetooth if you can't use a headset for voice dialing. Stupid. Bummer.
