people people, i have the fone for about a week now, and i will give you a non bias advice. the phone is great but it is not worth the money. I would pay for it perhaps 380-400$ It is good but not as good as expected. I am a professional in phone usage , i have used a wide range of phones, from motorolas, se, nokias, samsungs, panasonics and others and based on my past experience i would not recomend this fone for hardcore phone users (wait for n80), but for those who are new to this phone addiction the samsung would make a very impressive new toy. I do regret a little buying the phone, cause i spent beaucoup des argent on it. For user like myself this phone will seem very slow and not very sofisticated, for normal users i do believe that this would make a very interesting cell.

this is a personal opinion and i am not been bias at all

have a great day

Got the D600 for about a week replacing my former fons E720/E880. Yes... it has a great many features over my previous phones, the BT transfer is way faster and cam on cloudy mode is somewhat like night vision. Question is.. why is the so video laggy. In brightly lit up areas its sort of okay but inside a room its laggy like a webcam (even with flash on). Hows a 2 megapix cam inferior in video smoothness to that of a 1 megapix cam ??? (or is it just my handset?)

ok, you don't like orange phones, SE k750 is black, and now there's a version black with white; but please, before write, view the SAMSUNG D600 CAMERA REVIEW and then tell me who is the crap

Obviously D600 looks great but what rate would you give in video,tv output, camera(photos),and in general for the phone?
What are the major disadvantages of the phone?

I know that the video resolution is
15fps.How it looks when you record a video(indoors/outdoors)?Viewing videos on TV are they clear or not?

this samsung just really SUCKS; really ugly design, ugly and unoriginal color, it doesn't look like a camera neither like a cellphone, no joystick, no good earphones (and YES YOU NEED THEM, you say you don't cuz you never has try them, it gives a indescriptible quality for classical music), no bass amplificator, no entirely 2MP camera, NO JUST-MUSIC-MODE, NO CONECTION TO A STEREO (if you have a party, you can connect a W800 to a stereo in just-music-mode, so you'll can play all your music for 30 hours battery and all the sound of the stereo, D600 CAN'T).

oh, and i'm almost sure it won't have the color quality of SE cameras.

                            D600 is a ****** great phone.

HEY PAL, I don't think much harder/impossible to buy protective cases for D600.

Does it really matter if the d600 has stereo speakers? YES, IT DOES.

does anyone listen to phone's music without earphones? YES, I DO AND ALL OF MY MATES.

W800 is NOT 3G and is only available in orange, JUST GREAT.

                            D600 BIGGER Screen, BETTER Performance.

W800 is a not bad phone for FREAKEN ORANGE ADDICTED DUMB ASS, JUST CRAP.

Does 850mhz band really matter if you are't in the middle of nowhere? T-mobile is cheaper and more convenient esp. for pay as you go anyway.

d600's 31x41mm screen is almost identical to w800's 28x36 screen in size and indistinguishable in resolution. With the small screen size it seems a waste that they made d600 a slider because it's less convenient, more prone to break, and much harder/impossible to buy protective cases for. w800 has longer battery life. Even the orange/bronzish stripe of the w800 doesn't bother me as much as when I first saw it, it actually looks cool in person and it's an attention grabber for a status symbol phone. Does it really matter if the d600 has stereo speakers, does anyone listen to phone's music without earphones? d600 says on its box it's made for business while w800 is a fun walkman phone, I'd personally want a fun phone. Everyone seems to have problems downloading things onto d600 even music, just doesn't seem userfriendly or free of bugs/glitches. And has anyone seen any 512mb transflash cards that aren't sold out everywhere?? No radio on d600 either and no standard plug for connecting radio equipped handsfree earphones.

The ONE HUGE DIFFERENCE between d600 and w800 seems to be d600's 4x BETTER CIF VIDEO. But without a transflash card, how many minutes of highest quality video recording with sound can internal memory hold, anyone know? w800 takes slightly better still pictures with autofocus and costs $200 less and comes with EVERYTHING you'll ever need except decent video. w800 even has the perfect case, body glove scuba cellsuit which stays on and protects everything with removable clip. With w800's better availability and price and just a kind of intangible feelgood factor with that whole package, I must say I'm back to leaning towards w800. Out only 2 months, w800 feels established and unique, best music phone, best camera phone, not best video but probably best value all things considered.

A few weeks ago, someone posted asking if anyone has taken this phone on a plane yet. So far, nobody has posted regarding this topic. I also would like to know because I had some problems with the D500 when I took it on a plane ride. After the flight, the screen turned all white and almost illegible.

Like most people, I've been waiting for this phone for months. But after reading alot of complaints by owners, I'm slowly beginning to have doubts.

The fone's very rickety compared to the d500,
it feels loose when slid open ,other than that , great features , great quality pictures.

6 Reasons why Samsung D600 is BETTER than Sonyericsson W800i.

                                    1) It has better video recording resolution, in CIF (353 x 288), apparently 4 times better than W800i's QCIF (176 x 144).

                                    2) Better resolution regarding the TFT-LCD display, QVGA (320 x 240, 2'00 inch), while W800i is embarked with (220 x 176). Again, the D600's screen is 4 times better than W800i's.

                                    3) D600 is equipped with dual stereo-speakers, sound clarity and vibra-synchronization. While W800i consist mono-speaker, located on the backside of the phone, you can barely hear the mp3's.

                                    4) Better design, ellegant, though it's subjective to affirm that the design is better than W800i, most people would probably agree. W800i is just a stereotypical candybar phone with orange-colored band around white surface, how can it get more mediocre than that?

                                    5) Durablity and built-quality. 99% air-sealed so that dust won't get under the screen, unlike the W800i. When you D600, it is tangible and stiff, while W800i made out of cheap plastic so if you grasp the phone, and makes squeaking sounds.

                                    6) TV-OUTPUT. Does W800i have this type of function?? Although W800i brags about downloads of countless java games, only D600 can pull the string. You can view PDF files, Excel, Word, PowerPoint through D600. In addition, saved HTML files from your internet, pictures, videos, games can be displayed on your flat pannels.
