What do you guys think about the D600 vs Siemens SL75? Pro/Cons? I noticed there is no instant messaging for the D600, that kinda sucks...

Why do you say they are "kickass"? They don't look that spectacular for new phones from Asia. Maybe next to a Nokia, or Ericsson, or "Hello Moto" they look cool...

By the way, anyone with a GSM phone interested in changing their voice quality/battery life can use Enhanced Full Rate (EFR) for better quality, or Half Full Rate (HFR) for better battery life.

Depends entirely on the implementation. Higher bit rates (from higher bandwidth or spread spectrum) can result in better quality. Not all CDMA networks operate the same.

Under normal circumstances GSM uses between 4.8k - 9.6k for voice (depending on the compression used), indicating quite low quality. 16k or 24k would sound a lot better... but then much lower battery life and double the airtime cost.

I don't know about the service, but Korea has way better phones than Japan.
And I heard that CDMA has better sound quality than GSM.

One guy in Russia has a prototype and suddenly people say it's ben released there?

Again we have people saying it's released in Korea, where there is no GSM service. Need I say geeeez again... Why Samsung would launch a phone in a country with no GSM network is beyond me! It's like launching a new aircraft in a country with no airports.

Not sure the exact names for it but Korea uses some proprietary system based on CDMA (Japan does a similar job). That's why they have had 2.5G / 3G type services for many many years already (and 7 megapixel phones etc) and needless to say it is far superior to GSM in many ways. Japan probably has the best mobile services in the world, thanks largely to Docomo (with the old iMode etc), Korea is not bad, followed by GSM for most of the world, followed by the junk that's available in the states (yes I know more people are using GSM these days but many still don't even know what an SMS is).

D510? Don't even bother. The screen is crap like the D500.

Listen to Mobile Phone Music with Car Stereo

Samsung Electronics announced Friday that it will team up with German automaker, Audi to introduce a new concept connecting mobile phone with automobile.

People driving Audi can connect Samsung D600 to their car stereo to listen to music thanks to A2DP(Advanced Audio Distribution Profile).

The D600 is a GSM slide phone featuring 2M pixel camera and Bluetooh. Samsung plans to apply the technology to a 3GB hard drive model, i300 a.k.a Super Music phone after releasing D600 in the second half.

I've got another link which confirm that the phone is set for the beginning of August:
                        https://www.phonehouse.fr/commerce/servlet/frfr-server-PageServer?ARTICLE=TARIFF.JUIN2005.AVANTPREMIERE

However, as you said it still might be an estimation..

It's an estimate. Other sites are saying September. It's their guess based on Samsung's "Q3" estimate. Estimates based on estimates. Great!

Just contain yourself and be patient, it's only a phone.

At least, this time I won't fool you by saying that in France it is set for August:

Are you bored or something Seb? Stop playing silly little games. And you seem to forget your name an awful lot.

Korea does not use GSM, hence no GSM phones for sale in shops there, since they don't work.

Anyway we can all see it's you. Geeeeez.....

Where has it been released in Asia? Please refrain from talking bollocks. I'm in the cellphone capital of Asia, and you don't know what you're talking about. Grow up.
