how is this better than the d600???
i think they have the same spec.

It will be released in about a week (either December 5 or 9) in the U.S. for T-Mobile. But be warned, the specs above are not exactly correct... there is NO built-in handsfree (no voice dialing) and there is NO tv-out.

      What? Discontinued?

I thought it has not even been released yet? Some specs are not even confirmed yet...

Yeah The d800/d820 are more square in design but that is just down to current fashion trends. Just look as most nokia phones like the N80, etc... Samsung have been known for there ergonomic design and I'm sure they shall retain that, you can't always produce the same shape phone, sometimes you have to experiment.

Prefer the D800 design. This one looks a bit bulky by comparison.

D820 and D800 are pretty poorly designed but the d600 d500 are amazingly designed, this one is literally "flat"! no character for me

Currently I am using an O2 Mini...

Trust me, surfing the web on something that small is quite a headache, scroll left right up down... It was something I too thought was cool to have in the first place, then when u actually started using it... its not really that good to use..

Come to think of it, all those sites that u actually want to access on the go would have wap sites on their own... WAP is much easier to navigate.

I am thinking of switching to this phone once its out...

Yes, it has a WAP browser so you can browse WAP sites, but you can't surf regular html websites. (unless you use a Java program like OperaMini... but remember, it's not free to surf the net, you'll probably be paying a dollar per 100k, or around $20-30 per month for unlimited)

I believe its already out in the USA from T mobile as the T809.

comparing with the D600, the 820 is much thinner, but wider, rotating camera for self protraits, plug and play thumb drive, memory slot(not sure if 600 has one).

Thats enough to choose the 820...:)

Im Still Debating Over D600 or D820
what are the main disadvantages of both and advantages?

                                  Hi Shawny,

                                  Here you go:
                                  http://www.phonescoop.com/articles/digital_2005/index.php?p=t809

Before anyone comes saying that this is not the D820, the T809 is the U.S T-mobile name given to the D820 for use in the U.S market.

                                  Its the same thing.

yeah... Samsung has 7mp camera phones. I know it for a fact. The thing is, it is only available in Korea, and Korea uses CDMA type phones, hence will not work on GSM network. Also, this phone is already available in Korea aswell, but also in CDMA only...
(Samsung has way~ more models than you see on this website. But this is GSM site. Korea uses CDMA, n i asure you that you can get some pretty Fancy CDMA Phones in Korea, way ahead of the rest of the world)
