DANIEL. Hello again. Re the G logo on your screen (GPRS) I have just noticed on page 52 of the User Guide, that you can customise the settings, and if you get it right, the logo will actually disappear. However, it looks complicated to me, and I think you have to know what you are doing otherwise everything could well mess up ! Believe me.

good 2 hear tht screen cracking isnt inevitable (u no like hollywood divorces) i guess its all down 2 careless, heavy handed buffoons putting their phones in the microwave.. no problems then, gr8. thx

But the black finish is highly reflective, it's different, and I like it a lot. Very eye catching. I have had no worries with screen scratching or cracking. Having said that, I don't think it would stand up to rough use.

hey i gt this phone just yesterday, bt im kinda woried bout this whole screen fiasco.. is it an exaggerated one-off or is screen 'crackage' inevitable? Anyway gtta say so far its gr8 bt it cudv done with a more metallic finish ( like the sirocco, man tht would be great) its 2 plasticky 4 me..

TK TK TK Re incoming messages, you have to go with the Samsung tones - unfortunately I don't think you can download your own. That's the way it is.

Getting the battery COVER off is bad enough. The whole battery assembly is difficult, and I think it's just stiffness which is the problem. You don't like to force it, but no wonder the odd screen cracks. Wait till you get to the SIM - you will need strong tweezers to get that out. Otherwise, great fone !

I've just returned the SYNC (many issues) and this phone seems quite similar but with improved features (save for no 3G). Anyways, my main question is can any Java application be suspended when you want to do something else? I use my current phone (Razr) for WEB browsing during commute and many times I have to quickly stop and with the Razr I can just close the phone and it will automatically suspend any Java app. Later I have the option of resuming the app (either game or Opera Mini) where I left off. It's a real time saver on a slow phone like the Razr. So how is it on the D900? Sadly, the SYNC couldn't do this...

Thinking about buying this phone, although its really hard to find. Apparently it was only available for a week or so before Samsung did a re-call and took them all back.

Does anybody know why this happened?

                                    Thanks.

Great phone. However for samsung to make the screen clearer and bigger without making it thicker there is no real protective front screen infront of the lcd!

Only a thin layer of plastic..
If your going to buy this great handset. Insure it!
This handset Can Not handle being dropped or bumped!!!
