to purpleshadow,

To solve your problem, this is how u do it:
1. Go to menu
2. select settings
3. select sound settings
4. select extra tones
5. uncheck indicative tones.

hope this will solve your question.

Hi all, i'm thinking of getting the D900... but i have one question. Can anyone tell me if the warning tones can be turned off? I am currently using a samsung x650 and everytime I send a message, delete a message, add a contact,etc... I get this annoying tone that can't be turned off unless put to silent mode which would mean silent for rings and receiving msgs also. I would like to know if this problem has been fixed with the D900. Please help anyone. Thanks!

Great Samsung SGH-D900!!! You can watch videos MPEG4 or 3GP in a horizontal (tv) mode. Just press No.1 and you can watch video in FULL SCREEN-landscape mode..and without open slider--slide down and watch great videos QVGA!

I grabbed that phone about one week ago. The ones who want to listen music should definitely NOT be buying this phone.

"Hey guys, I just got the d900 but I'm having trouble with my ringer. It's set at melody and vibrate at volume 5. But when I receive my call it seems that the first second or two of my ringer is practically muted but then it continues at full sound. Is there any patch or something for it? I reset my settings but it continues to do it HELP. Also I installed the samsung pc studio cd and my windows media player doesn't work because of it!!!! HELP PLEASSSSSSE"

You and me both! Just another of the many poor qualities of this badly designed and built phone with less functions than a toilet! You may find its not just your media player that this useless software messes up! Best not to use it - use a card reader to add/remove files to your phone if you've got a micro SD in it. But then it's not much use having one because you can't record/take pics direct to it and when you have more than about 10 pics on your memory card it takes about an hour to browse them as it freezes all the time. Good luck if you've bought this heap of a phone!

                        Thank you very much Arvin!
I've just set all the levels and I followed your recomandation (I've just left level 10 with n. 1 indeed) and (for all those who complain about the volume) guess what? I've sent the same mp3 via bluetooth from my laptop to both my phones - SE 750i and my lovely D900 - and believe me my D900 is louder and clear!!! To obtain the best sound I've also modified the other section called Normal ( same location but select the first one called Normal -NOT IIS Normal! under RX volume too...
this one has 5 levels and I will write here the original ones you will find on your phone and the recommended ones a friend gave me:

                        Original recommended

                        Level 1 19 20
                        Level 2 30 40
                        Level 3 48 70
                        Level 4 76 120
                        Level 5 120 190

                        Hope that this will help....

If you are wondering in between D900 and SE W810i go with SE......I had both and SE proved itself to be more stable, better battery life functionality etc. D900 might look better but 810 is better by a mile...

I have a question: I want to buy this phone but I'd like to know what the reception and call signal are like.I previously had the samsung D600 and the signal was bad and I had a lot of dropped and missed calls. One more question which phone is better the Sony Ericsson W810i or the d900??

Good phone so far. 1 GB Sandisk card worked perfected first time. Phone seems to drop out a lot on the Optus network in Australia.
