its odd for features to be missd out as i automaticaally expect bigger models to have the last features allready there ...slideshow would have been good.and other bits & pieces from the older d500,,d600 etc.Im using n80 as well but really liking this fone all i ever did was complain about the d600 appalling battery life.ALL i want is the message alert to be audible its ridiculous i dont know why we put up with it what are they thinking seriously.Samsung give lovely really helpfull email replies :NOT: they dont even give you any direction they say just look at the website,,,hell fire most websites are out of date & dont contain any info that you need....Most people here a beep,,tinkle or silly ditty & know they have a message ,, youve no chance with this model but it is good tho in a other wise fantastic way

Yes, music can be played in background. You can also play Java games and listen music in the same time. When you receive a phonecall, after you finish talking, music will resume playing. Overall a very well made phone, very light and thin, amazing camera with autofocus!! Battery life is between 2-3 days intensive use and max 4 days normal use.
The best phone I owned so far.

>>>>Second ? is the only way to get data to the card with a standalone usb card reader?>>
Answer, Yes, using the USB cable/charger that comes with the handset. But first you must go to the settings......USB settings in phone and choose MASS STORAGE. Its slower than a USB card reader and I chooose to use the card reader to load with my D600.
The more I read about the D900 the more I think I will wait until the next model from Samsung. I also HATE the idea of not being able to save to the TF card. Stupid...and another function they should put in is choosing landscape mode for viewing mpg's or photos.
Adding wifi might also be nice.

D900 and transflash: Trying to figure this out. Is it best to think of the microSD as offline storage? That's to say it is not directly available to the phone; any data that is on it (microsd) needs to be moved to the phone's builtin memory to be available to the phone's features?
Second ? is the only way to get data to the card with a standalone usb card reader?

D900 is wonderfull cellular phone! Great! So thin 12-13mm and not heavy 90gr.
some cons:
E900 is better by zoom and slide-show-view of photos on microSD and downloaded images, D900 can't this, like a D600.
But touch pad by E900 is something very bad and unusefull. It make crasy.
camera 3,15Mpx...Problem with sharpness of panorama photos. Auto focus photos and macro-photos are very very good but panorama photos make D600 much better--sharpness is problem and night photos are bad.
Can somebody tell how to have more themes? I have only one in my phone.

Hallo everybody!
D900 is very good phone. I have one already 1month, Battery life is 3-4 days + over nights but you must have a display brightness 1or2 of 5. For better hearing press *#8999*8378# then go to H/W test, audio settings, normal, Rx vol. level1=20, level2=40, level3=70, level4=120, level5=180. I think you will bee very satisfied than with your beautifull D900. I am. Bye, Croatian Samsung fan.
