i hesitate between D900 and sony ericsson K800,k800 seems to make better photos, but d900 is really better design.
i have samsung E720 now,and i am soooooo disapointed of the sound quality,i nearly can hear people i phone, and they nearly hear me.i sent it back to samsung but they told me it wasn't a problem so changed nothing, samsung service really sucks so,is the voice better in this one phone?(d900) or is it still the weak point of the phone?

Dont you guys do some research before you buy it?
The message tone cant be changed. thats one of the main draw backs samsung phones has. If that is so important look for something else. peace.

These pictures here are definitely wrong.
The one on the lft (closed) has smaller screen than the one on the right.

Having looked at the pictures of real D900, there's no white strip below Samsung logo and body is black. Does Samsung do 2 different colours? This picture here does look like drawing.

to catalina..
I think u cant put a mp3 melody as a message ringtones, u must choose between the tones preinstalled....and i dont know why samsung have this bad feature in their cell.

Drew,
I was exaggerating for the sake of getting a laugh and/or emphasising a point. Hence why i exaggerated.
And so my words shouldnt be taken factually.
In any case, it sounds like you work for O2, so could you give me the full details and MB charge of accessing GPRS wap??
thanks

To D900 owners:
(1)How is the voice clarity and battery life of D900(only forms 800mAh)?
(2)How is the speaker quality on D900?
D600 has dual 3D sound speakers instead of one speaker on D900.
(3)Does D900 record video in mpg4 format?
(4)What are the major advantages(as an upgrade to D600)and disadvantages of D900?
(5)If you rate D900 what score will you give?
Thanks in advance.

Have you not heard of wap over gprs where you get charged per mb you d/l not the time you spend online ?
If you with o2 you get a inclusive allowence of gprs data every month and iirc we do 2 normal data bolt ons that bring the cost per mb down, and even then once you have used all your normal allowence up we charge £3 per meg.
I feel you inflated the figures some what......

TO Q$5R
It's not the phone, it's the quality of the signal. i.e. if you are in a crap reception area, most phones will have a crap reception. You could have the 'best' reception phone in the world, but if you're in the middle of the Sahara, you ain't gonna get a signal, are you? Unless they have now even installed cell antennas into sand dunes. Which i doubt.
The only way a phone itself ever has a crap reception is if a) it's made by an incompetant American company, like Motorola or b) if it's broken, with the main offenders being Motorola's.
But anyway, the D900 reception signal is fine here in the UK. And every phone i have had for the past 7 years, from Siemens to Samsung, i have never once had a reception problem and that was on different operators in different geographical locations. So stop being a weirdo. You just sound like a technologically inept grandma.

Yes i completely agree. All adverts of said 'feminine sanitry' should be banned as well, regardless of the time of day. They are easily enough to turn a man gay. Just disgusting.
To 4Thy
Considering America is so behind in cellular technology that it wouldnt surprise me if the Motorola TravelStar was still the peak of technology over there, i cant see the Sammy D900 making it too quickly over the pond.
It might get there eventually. And, this is purely an assumption, but i should imagine it will be available on one of your bigger operators, like the horrible sounding Cingular.
To vik
THe only reason why it gets hot when connected to a PC is because if you havent noticed, the USB connector charges the phone while also uploading files.
It is completely normal for a charging battery to get hot. So stop throwing your toys out of the pram about it.
Keypad tones are very easily turned off as well. See that long strip of metal with the two arrows on it on the left side of your phone???
If you press the arrow that points down, then it might pleasantly surprise you with what it does. Thats right, it turns the nerd-loving horrible tones off.
To MWWq
According to Samsung you can only use a max 512mb. But someone has found out that if you put a bigger card in, you need to slot it into your phone and then do a FULL phone reset. Note this will ERASE all numbers in your phone book as well, so make sure they are safely saved somewhere.
Once you have done the reset, your phone should recoginse the bigger card. Well, at least it 'apparantly' worked with a 1GB card. Worth a try tho - just means you'll have to play around with the settings again to get back your background, preferred tones, etc.

almost perfect phone. camera could have been better. having trouble uploading file to pc. some errors somewhere. it gets quickly hot when connected to pc. it worries me sometime. the worst is that the keypad note cant be turned off, thats so stupid of samsung. i like the smooth slide and nice screen. sound is not bad either for a phone. and its so flat front and back. nice design. little high price. i need a case so i can enjoye it for a while. good luck, if you can affort it and can stand the keytone sounds you should try this.
