screen cracking:
i have some bad news to all of you.
my phone seems to have the famous screen cracking issue :-(
i bought my phone only 6 weeks ago in Hungary and the firmware if an 2007 release - so i guess the screen cracking issue is not over and not present only on some early phone batches.
i was very gentle with my phone.
it didn't fall and was not even charged before cracking.
i did put it in my jeanse from pocket though.
i think this is the most natural thing to do with a phone...
my screen cracked from the inside and there is not external indication for a crack.
anyway it is still functional but the amazing screen quality now look as the worst screen ever.
i did a big mistake buying this phone especially because of the fact i know
about the cracking issue and thought it is over.
for potential customers - i do not recomend buying this seemingly amazing phone of course.
for owners - be very gentle with your phone.
i hope for your sake, phones who crack have manufacturing defects and that this issue is not present on all phones - otherwise it is just a matter of time before your phone crachs :-(

Maxima,
isn't a "cracked screen" involves a crack in the screen?
my screen seems undamaged.
i also read about cracked screens and understood that this make the phone totaly unusable - this is not my case.
my screen simply look very dark and with strange and very bothering black lines :-(
i read that this may be due to the ribbon cable beeting released - can this be the case?
how can i open the phone - i.e. seperate the two parts that are silding on each other?
is this possible?
Thanks,
Tals.

TALS. I think your problems are due to one thing only - a cracked screen. Default setting will not sort it. Sorry. Tap in "cracked screen" at foot of this page and search. You will see that it is a common problem.

Help!
i tried loading all kind of gifs to my phone to use as wallpapers and suddenly my screen freaked out.
it looks all dark and with lines crossing from top to button that look like scratches.
i can not revert the screen condition anyway.
i tried changing the wallpaper back, changing skins theme act.
the screen looks bad no matter what the phone status is: in idle, in menues, during video playback act.
is there anyway to revert the phone to default configuration?
is this a known issue?
please help!!!

overall its very nice phone...i m really happy tht i got this phone(after reading tons of reviews)however i would give it 4 stars out of 5 despite its a great phone its faulty ..it sometimes mixes the last calls list ...ex if u have X and Y in last calls list if u pushed the button to call X it will call the Y contact (it would show that its calling X contact)however thats rarely happens but its still puts me in silly situations but i still loveit.....my next phone is forsure samsung

This is one of the best phones i've ever used. Its camera and display are crystal clear. The only downside is the short battery life. It also heats up quite a bit when used for a while eg when playing music. Otherwise its a really nice buy.

It is a nice phone, but has flaws.
I like the vivid message, dialling theme, quality of picture in daylight and wallpaper theme, slim design, ability to put password on your files.
The problem is it is slow in reading pictures stored in its micro sd. Samsung does not include the option to save the pictures taken on to the card directly. You have to manually transfer it to the cards. You have to edit the camera options like the flash everytime and the night photos are terrible. I have seen the photos taken from SEK800i, and they are beautiful, taken night time or daytime. I used to have a motorola v3i and it is better in dealing with micro SD, when micro sd is inserted, it is the priority option to store any downloaded files, whether it is an image, music files or video files. D900 does not do that, everything has to be manually transferred.
You cannot use mp3 files as a message tone. Use the boring preset ones.
You have to use "Save and Send" option just to have the messages saved on your sent box.
Which for me, is such a hassle. It should be stored in Sent items, cause you sent it, whether you saved it or not.
