One Can not change the message alert tones save for those that are preset on the phone and neither can one delete them.

The tones themselves are less that desirable,
One is forced to live with them...

the worst phone ever. In UAE it has the poorest signal coverdge. You cant slide the pictures in your mem card and have to see them as rhumbnails and open them one by one. Samsung- never again.

everything else is fine esp its 3.2mp camera. One draw back is you can't attach a hanger to it.

you can't install themes on this fone, thats why its not working, the sis files u are installing (or attempting to) are files for the Symbian Smartphones, and is most likely a nokia theme file,

Hi Tracey; you can find your answer in the D900i forum as well. anyway here is the answer taken from Rajesh TIPS&TRICKS guide:

How to turn off keypad tones?
To turn off the keypad tone, slide tone and power on/off tone TOGETHER, press down volume-keys on the left side of the phone till zero, from the MAIN SCREEN. This is the quickest, and is the right method, if you want to keep ‘Theme’ as the dialing display font.

Also you can turn off (or change) keypad tones (menu 9-4-2) power on/off tone (menu 9-4-4) and slide tone (menu 9-4-5) independently. Thereafter, pressing volume key will not affect the corresponding tone.

If the keypad tone menu in your phone is INACTIVE, go to display settings…dialing display…font type and change ‘theme’ to ‘normal’. Then go back to keypad tone menu to turn off/change tone.
