Ok after changing from my ex D900 to U700 i do have some comments for you all. Basically this U700 is smarter than D900, but some major function wise, they are both good.

First of all U700 only have 41714k of internal memory. Which is smaller than D900. But thats not really a problem if you have a memory card, pictures and videos taken can be directly send into the card.

In fact, the Video camera's resolution (Only 176x144) for U700 as compared to D900, its a loss. U700 doesnt have the "U menu" function. Wheres replaced by "application menu" function, which u can access to 4 menus- internet, voice call, message and End all application."application menu" can be accessed anywhere when you are using the phone, even while u are viewing you calender for example.

However U700's camera is amazingly good. For them who are not sure,U700 still have its"White balance" and "exposure metering(spot & metrix) " functions. It capture high resolution images like 2048x1536 (with auto focus on) within a sec. And Camera flash light can be set as "Auto" by default, whereby D900 has to be switched manually everything u use it. Camera has improve quite alot for U700. However the phone's defaults to take image horizontally(which means u have to turn ur phone horizontally to take straight pictures)- This cannot be changed. However its what u see and what u get for ur picture taken. Another interesting function for the camera is the "camera button" on the side of the phone. By pressing it slightly, you are actually auto focusing your picture, hold it and it's auto focus will stay there. Press harder and you are capturing. Cool huh? Images and Videos taken, can be send into your memory card straight away.

However U700 doesnt have the TV out-port function that D900 has.

For those of you who are afraid of your mobile phone's buttons get flatted or worn out, U700 could really be your best choice. Yes, the touch screen is sensitive, if its not, how do you press? lol. I believe what some of you mean is that the touch screen buttons are very close together, therefore always press the wrong key u desire. But without using much strength, you can play ur keys effortlessly with its touch screen and extra smooth "ipod like" turning navigation. It also has a very nice and bright classy white keypad light.

On the main dialing page, when you press a few numbers, the phone will automatically display names from the phonebook that has the same few number. Which means you dont need to access the phonebook and search for names now, if you know 2-4 numbers of the recepient.
You can custom create MMS with your desire background colours, ect. Customising and Creativity is quite alot in U700 i would say.

Java games are now stored inside the gallery section with images and sound. Interesting?
One cute thing about U700 is that it includes Chinese calender(not sure about other countries). Anyway im staying in singapore.
Phone feels very smooth and metallic. Solid too. Its like holding a metal bar. If you have greasy hands, i believe everyone does, the phone will get very greasy :\

I will update soon again when i have the time :)

capricorn; when you connect the phone to a TV the TV simply replaces the phones screen.
this is working well no matter what you decide to do with the phone:
            - play video.
            - capture video.
            - play games.
            - view images.
            act.

there are some minor limitations (taken from the D900 user guide):
            You cannot use a Bluetooth
            stereo headset or the zooming
            feature in TV Out mode.

I just want to know the tv out function. Does this mean that when you play games or open a java application, or view/create videos or view images, or when you read your messages everything can be viewed in TV? Or just a certain function can be viewed. Thanks.

GasMcCloud; the answer to your question is yes - D900 can both record and play videos of course (like any other camera phone).

the only difference between the D900 video and other camera phones is the truly amazing quality (considering it is a phone of course)!

ann; the best way to learn about D900 tips and tricks is to ready Rajesh's TIPS&TRICKS guide (posted many times in this forum).

if i undestand your current issue properly, than tip 19 from the guide explains it:
                        19. How to remove operator name/numbers from the main display: For this, the wallpaper should be in ‘normal’ mode(display settings…wallpaper…normal). Go to display settings…text display …text position and select ‘off’.

                            ann; you can't download themes!

a small tip for future questions:
at the bottom of this page you have a search field. if you write a topic name there (theme for instance) you can easily search this forum for answers and get a full overview about the phone's theme support (or lack of support in this case).

GasMcCloud; i had the U600 vs. D900 dilemma up untill a couple of weeks ago when i upgraded my old D600.

after much research i initially decided to go with the U600 as it was newer and had some additional features like FM radio, sunlight mode, newer mp3 player, new camera UI, bigger screen, slimest design, options to store pictures automatically to the memory card act. it also has some disadvantages comparing to the D900 of course:
touch sensitive keys, shorter battery life, reflective screen act.

anyway when i got to the stores i saw many U600 phones in different prices, its turned out most of them were used as people who buy this phone often bring it back due to the touch sensitive keys.

when i held the phone is felt like a cheap plastic matirial and looked like a toy phone.
i simply could not buy it especially after holding the D900 for reference.

unleess you have to have one of U600 enhancement - i recommend the D900, but this is totally a matter of taste.

I was a very happy owner of a D600 until my LCD blanked out. Phone still functions you just can't see the screen. Should I upgrade to a D900 0r a U600. But if anyone knows how to fix the phone, I rather go with that option.

                                    Thanks

I just got this phone, it is an amazing phone compared to my old V3razr, it is so much better. The resolution of the screen is so clear I can't believe it. Everthing is perfect except the reception/signal is not that great. I have ATT service.
