ann; i had the same concerns up untill a few weeks ago when i upgraded my old D600 to this phone.
the best tip i can give you is what Rajesh told me right after i purchased:
"Now that you were using another samsung(D600) you'll not possibly regret buying a D900."
i totally agree with this statement!
i found only two very small disadvantages for D900 comparing D600:
1. no way to install Java over bluetooth.
2. the sliding mechanism and total handset feel is less firm and solid.
D900 has many advantages to overcome the minor downsides. it is the ultimate upgrade for the D600 (especially for someone who is happy with the D600).
you will have a bigger screen, a smaller and compact handset, some options to view full screen pictures, an option to listen to wireless music from the memory card, a great offline (flight) mode, BT 2.0, a better camera, act...
go for it!!!

while installing games from getjar site using serial USB i found a great and handy JAVA application - JM2PC.
this is BT remote control for the PC and is very handy with common scenarios - for instance:
- if you use your laptop/desktop to watch moviews and do not have a wireless mouse, the phone can replace it.
- if you throw power points presentations and never bought a PC bluetooth controller, the phone can replace it.
there are many other JAVA apps with similar funtionality, i am telling about the one i installed and tested with the D900.
do you have other applications to recommend?
does anyone manage to get the serial key for the full activation of JM2PC?

edge; there are no "stereo" speakers like the D600 has, but there is 3D sound from a single speaker.
i do not think the speaker sound is inferior comparing to the D600 as the stereo speakers had very small effect due to the small distance they had in between.

abyss; i am not sure about the heating levels you are talking about.
if the phone slightly heats up - i think it is ok. MP3 is a heavy application (i am basing this on the battery/power consumption). if the phone gets heat so you can't hold it - i think you have a problem.
i use my phone with MP3 and listen via bluetooth (which is a much greater effort for the phone). i can tell you the phone is slightly heated even after a couple of hours with this operation.
hope this helps.

Bill; i would recommend you to read Rajesh's guide (links are posted in this forum) - it will save you some questions.
from the guide:
Any card beyond 512 MB, buy Sandisk only. A Sandisk 1GB will work without any problem(I’m also using one). And many users say that Sandisk 2GB also work without problems, but this I’m not sure.
See this page also ; http://www.mobile9.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=36351
Before using card, format it using the format option in my files..memory card..options..memory card settings…format card

Tals, quite normal. Functions are limited in mem card. For example, you get no thumbnail view of images in card, no 'next' option while browsing images, image in card can't be opened with picsel file viewer....

there is a "last entry" feature in the phone where each time i enter a menu the phone starts with the last entry i have been to in this menu (like the entry was cached/remembered).
this does not seem to be working on the memory card menus!
is this a bug or am i missing something here?

TALS;
Go to menu/settings/phone settings/slide settings and for 'DOWN' , select 'CONTINUE OPERATION'. This will correct the problem and also the programs will not stop if you close the slider.
