Rajesh; the phone does not ask me any confirmation question (whether to lock or not lock).
when i close the slide it locks without any question and same goes after 30 seconds if i manually unlocked it.

Tals, the keypad lock is fully automatic with the slider. You can't lock manually. But I think they have done it more logically. The keypad is locked immediately after you close the slider, with a confirmation question. And if you press 'No' to the question or if you manually unlock it, you'll be doing this to perform some function - right? And after that function when you come back to standby, it again asks you "Lock?"
And it is NOT THE 30 SECONDS, but keypad is locked when the display goes off. If you set light settings/Dim as 30sec, then keypad is locked only after 45 seconds.

When the slide is closed and i unlock the phone, it is automatically locked after 30 seconds (exactly when the screen goes off).
is there an option to shut down the automatic locking?
i still want it to be locked when i close the slide and unlock when i open it...
one more question regarding locking:
after i unlock - how can i manually lock it?

Regarding the TEXT MESSAGE CREATOR interface
................................................
Here are the pictures send to me by Dr.Adedoyin to clarify all doubts.

Interesting that there are so many different versions of the same phone. Thanks for forums! And yours is a very relevant question MAXIMA. The only way to go back to the previous menu is to clear all text and then press c!
However I feel this interface is better than the one in my phone(T9abc status box is at the top right corner). The one shown in figure, easier to switch between T9 and normal in it. I've used such text editor in earlier Samsung C200. No press'n'hold,which is a nightmare for some people.(search for the keyword 'dreaded t9' to see an opinion !) Thanks to Doctor for all the information.
Hope to see some comments on this...

Mazen;
For good sound clarity, buy W700
For good images, select N73
For good video select D900
But you love Samsung phones....

Tals;
The 'fullscreen' option in this phone doesn't give you the real full-screen view.(Does it ?) You are not viewing ALL PARTS of the photo at a time. It is some kind of a zoomed view. You have to scroll to the left and right to view other parts. This is because the landscape viewfinder is absent in it. But with picsel file viewer, you can rotate the images and then make it full screen - the real full screen !(Refer tip 34 in my guide) That is why I said "no full screen slideshow"(sorry for making confusion..)
There need not be any considerable difference between two firmware versions. Just some small bugs fixed or so...You got a new firmware !(mine is FH1-Aug 2006) So why thinking about flashing? Search for 'flashing' and you'll get some opinions.
Plenty of compatible games here:

(still, some of them may show install error)

Rajesh; i am trying to figure out the full screen and slide show options on the phone using the forum's history. i saw this post of yours:
The slide show function in 'My Photos' has limitations. It doesn't provide full screen slide shows...
i have full screen slide show on My Photos folder if i first move to full screen and than run a slide show - i assuem this will work for you as well as we have the same firmware.
just FYI...

Tals;
Your firmware is as new as the version said in the review; that is, both are 1st releases of january 2007. XE means that is russian firmware and XD means your phone's firmware comes somewhere from Slovakia, Hungary, Czech, Croatia....(as per the info provided by Desidude. Where is desidude? We really miss him !)

Dr.Adedoyin, I got the pics. I've replied to your mail.

Mat_Jakun,
Thanks. Am aware of this. I mentioned repeated press on the C because you will need one more press after all is cleared to exit. Thanks all the same. I quite appreciate.

Cheers Tals! You made the selection after much research and comparison. Now that you were using another samsung(D600) you'll not possibly regret buying a D900.

Hello Rajesh and all other forum readers.
just wanted to share with you something that i see as amazing regarding this phone.
after two month of research i decided to upgrade my D600 with U600 rather than the D900. it was a very hard decision for me but i was very sure of it till i got to the store and held the D900 successor.
the new phone felt like a toy phone and looked terrible in any color i was playing with. the matirial Samsung used with this phone may be of good quality, but look and feel like a very cheap plastic.
i simply could not buy it especially after holding a D900 for comparison.
the amazing thing here, is that Samsung came up with some amazing slider phones after the D900: e840, D900i, U600 act and they all fail to deliver a product that it better than thier predecessor.
just wanted to let you know your old device still rules, at least as i see it.
i bought the D900 unlocked in budapest and so far very happy with my choice.
