Is this phone really that bad? Like am i better off getting a D900? I have a friend that is selling his U600 used for 300 canadian, but i might be able to get him down to 250. Would that be worth it? or should i buy this D900 i found on teh Net Brand new for 300$ canadian? Like which ones a better phone, thanks

TALS, My word, moving from D600 to D900 is definitely an upgrade, not downgrade. You'll never regret that. I shall write my comments on the construction as soon as i get full access to net.

Go to java world and highlight either of them, then select options and go to permission, I THINK "use network to send info" and "use network to receive info" will do it, but with those two settings you dont have the "yes, always" option. I may be wrong. If anyone knows what to do, please, spill the beans.

If it says "input: 100-240V" on the charger, then your good. its pretty standard that portable eletronics (laptops, phones, ipods) come with chargers that can be used anywhere. you obviously (as you say) just need the right adaptor so it fits into the plug point.

i was very sad to hear bad news about the phone construction and material quality.
do you think it is a major downgrade for me switching from a D600?

@WS: standard feature annoyingly not turned off
                  About battery life
if you make little calls on the phone i'm talking about one or two calls under two minutes a day, and use the phone heavily for texting (50 messages a day) the battery lasts about 3 days
if you hardly use the phone it will EASILY last a week more than most nokias, on standby the phone uses hardly anything
however if you use the phone heavily, for instance i use to use it for half an hour every morning on bluetooth head set (stereo works fine) then make about 15 - 20 calls, and about 60 texts a day the battery is horrible and barely lasts a day, my sirocco lasts longer in that case.
generally the phone under normal use, about 5 calls a day 25 - 50 texts will last about 3 or 4 days
keypad is annoying on this phone
if you use the internet on the phone, or dependend on it, its very buggy, the phone will some times just restart etc, just usual crap like that
this phone has many wierd disadvantages
for instance you cannot change the message tones except through the default tones, the phone is not as easy to synch to outlook as a nokia is, screen readibility is junk in the sun, camera is horrible at night, even with the light on or off, it doesn't do much.
the slide quality of the phones depend, the build quality of them are very random, ive used a couple of my friends phones slide much easier than mine
you can't zoom in on pictures stored on the phone except pictures taken by the actual phone. you can't take a photo and make it automatically save on the memory card.
copying/deleting from memory card and generally through out the phone is very slow, as so with changing the wallpaper etc.

@tals: no the d900 doesn't have that problem, although the screen has very little protection over it, like a lcd monitor you can put ur fingers over the lcd and it leaves a temporary imprint.
build quality is ok, the buttons on the slide are annoying, the phone is to thin, and the paint around the buttons can be scratched easily! the plastic used on the keypad around (on the top part of the phone) the D pad looks very cheap and doesn't look like very good quality plastic is used.

WS. It's normal. Protects your ears in case you are listening to music or something when the phone rings.

By default, all your text messages get stored in Sim card then into phone after sim is full. Usually sim takes about 16 messages. After this 16 messages all your inbox now stores in phone memory.

If your PC comes with Bluetooth, all you need to do is activate it and send your pics etc from your phone to the PC as you would send to a bluetooth enabled phone. If it does not come with bluetooth installed, then buy a USB bluetooth device, install it on your PC and transfer your pics etc normally from phone.
