Paddy,
I have samsung e830 phone for a while and I have two major problems. I live in the US and am on a GSM network (AT&T). I get horrible reception. Is anyone else experiencing the saem. I never had a problem when I had my motorola. Next when I pull the phone out of my phone case I can't answer the phone because it rejects the phone call. Any thought or comments? I like the phone but it is giving me a headache!

Let me explain further. Documents like spreadsheets, word, pdf, or powerpoint are saved into other files on your phone. You click on any of your saved item in "other folder" and the document viewer comes to play. Now if you have used phones like nokia 3250, S.E. P910, you see that you have option of clicking on your document and it opens with required application just like you have in D900, or you go directly to document viewer like Quickoffice, Quickword, or Quickpoint, click on this and list of items in each category could be seen, selected and viewed. This second option is not available in D900 cos its a simple phone with no operating system. Thats the design and it works well.

Davide34;
I have not yet used it that much. So here are the first impressions:
Browsing easier and faster with that mouse pointer and 4-way scroll etc. Menu functions also improved. But now I have to OPEN the slider for fast(page) scrolling(2,4,6,8). In 3.1, it was easy with right/left keys. They should seriously think of assigning fast scroll function to the SIDE - VOLUME keys, as done in the phone's default browser. Also data transfer has increased in this version?? In the 3.1, pages were downloaded in some folded fashion as said and so when I open this gsm arena page, it shows 'loading 12kb' or so. But with the new version, it is almost 24kb.
There are also some problems with entering text (web addresses etc). In 3.1 also there was some difficulty with T9 and symbol modes. But now I can not enter a web address at all !! (Anybody else with this problem?) Or is this trouble related to some brands/models only? We are not gonna approve any beta version or like unless it is made for our favourite D900!! :D

Just bought it in Chennai for 13000 from Wavetel. Thoroughly enjoying it. Happy that Samsung treats Indian market as importantly as others.

@freak
Talking of big fingers, D900 is kind to you compared with nokia n70, nokia 3230 or 3250. Go for D900.
The build quality is excellent. USB i think is 2.0. This phone can take up to 2Gb card and the camera is superb. Macro photography with its autofocus is really helpfull. For pictures taken with this phone, see Rajesh's D900 Tips & Shortcuts. Many pics taken with D900 there.

When you save documents in other files in your phone memory or card memory and you select them to view, the document viewer (in this case Piscel file viewer) automatically comes to play. You can view pdf, word, pictures, and powerpoint documents.

Roger; 2GB card doesn't go that easy in all versions of this phone. Anyway try this:
1.If the Format? option is asked, when you insert memory card, then ignore the message and go to my files/memory card/options/mem card settings and select format.
2.Still fails, then go to menu/settings/phone settings/usb settings and select 'mas storage'. Connect your phone to pc through data cable. In pc, the memory card will be shown as a removable disk in My Computer. Right click on this drive and select 'format'. Don't select quick format. Select FAT32 and give a volume label as you like. And try to format.
(Note. Once you delink the cable, the usb settings go back to 'modem' from 'mass storage')
