No mms problems with this phone or other samsung phones I've used. When it comes to picture messages via sms, there is some incompatibility between nokia and samsung. But mms must work for all. We send pictures, sounds and video via mms. They have common formats. So they must be compatible for every handset supporting multimedia.

Problems with mms are always related to mms profile and other mms settings. profile settings different for every network and in each network, it is different for every brand and model. That is why I can't help the mms problem beyond a limit. Perhaps your operator does not have the proper settings for D900. Hope you have verified that proper settings are selected in messages/settings/mms/mms profiles. Also the limit for mms size also different for networks. for my network it is 300kb. You can't send/recieve beyond this size.

I use e-mail facility in phone, more often than mms. You can send whatever you send by mms (and more than that)through e-mail and I think it is cheaper. All you need to have is an e-mail account with pop3 access, like g-mail.(Tip31 in my guide)

I'm interested in this phone I'm worried about a few things?

If you have big fingers (which unfortunately I do) how bad is it to press/use the * 0 and # keys?
Does this phone has a USB version 2.0 or 1.1? on Samsung site it says version 2, but other sites says its a 1.1 version.
Hows the build quality, is it any good? What's the maximum memory this mobile can have, 1Gb or 2Gb?
What's the camera quality like? can anyone host some pictures that has been taken with this phone?

    Thanks in advance,
    Regards & Respect

      To Rajesh:

Thanks for the help, i replaced my phone because of mms problems, i went to my local network service center and they told me that my mms, gprs settings are activated already but i cannot receive any mms at all. So the technician have thought that the problem is in the phone, and i dont want to reprogram the software of the phone since it is under the 7 days replacement yet and if i do, the 2 year warranty will be void already. So i decided to let them replace me with a new model...

i just want to ask... Is samsung compatible to all phones when it comes to mms sending and receiving, coz when i went to the technician, they told me that samsung and nokia are not compatible at all.. is that true? or is samsung compatible to all phone brands and is it compatible to any network u are sending and receiving as long as the networks are in the same country?

      thanks in advance.

        nicky,

What you need do is install your java apps via USB. Since you already use getjar site, you'll need to download your apps first. Make sure you download both the jar and jad files of the apps into the same folder. Then go to this link and follow the instructions to the letter. http://phonetutorials.tk . For the fine details see Rajesh's D900 Tip & Shortcuts. Tip 26.

sms tones are not very lengthy, still better than x700. 10 tones are given in my version. Repeat 1min/2min option is available. volume is sufficient and methods are there to increase it.
(Desidude, I think you can give a better comparison of these two)

                              Hi Rajesh,

if i select beep for keytone, it plays beep sound while messaging. and if i select simple or xylophone again, it goes back to annoying DTMF tone.
If I can only have either DTMF or beep while messaging, I want beep instead of DTMF.

                              Thanks!

                                      KYLE,
You have two choices of key tones while messaging - Beep and DTMF. go to menu...settings...sound settings...keypad tone and select beep or DTMF. The melody key tones - xylophone and simple - are not available for messaging.

If you want to keep a melody tone(say, xylophone) for normal dialling, and want to change message key tone from beep to DTMF, then go to keypad tone menu, select DTMF,save it and then again select xylophone and save. Hope you got it....

                                        Hi,
When I am typing SMS on the phone, it plays default DTMF tones. I am wondering that there is any way to change the key tones when creating SMS.. Thanks!
