ok- phone isnt without faults but its a question of weighing them against the good and making your own decission. call quality is ok, maybe 8/10. its very quiet if you have an mp3 as a ring tone, and you cant use an mp3 as ur alarm. Also, and it could just be how i'm using it, the sharp inside hinge bits are quite sharp on my face. However it is a very cute, pocket sized phone, and has a decent camera (its a phone, not a camera after all) and video. Its not a problem only being mega pixel rather than 1.3 like the d5 as networks charge you more the bigger the picture, and most screens cope with mega pixel ok. plays mp3 ok thru headset. texting is like any other phone - give it a week and its easy as anything although a little long winded in the menu set up. final verdict - not bad, wish id kept my k700i but wanted a smaller phone. my e720 is on orange.

I have had my E720 for 4 days now and am really pleased with it. I don't find texting difficult, as with anything new you have to give it a chance!!! I want to start downloading music and therefore need advice on where to get the USB cable and also what Bluetooth headset would be recommended. Hope someone can help. Cheers

Does the center (set) button in the middle of this phone act as a normal "OK" button OR does it access the internet/tzone??? Tmobile %ucks up their phones by altering that button... I was curious to anyone who uses this phone on tmobile and how that button works?? I don't care how badazz it is... If samsung or other companies can't pull their head out... Then I continue to look elsewhere.

For all of those who are whining about bad quality of MP3... Use your stereo headset you got with it. The speaker is not designed for high quality music.
Using the headset will also save your battery, they consume less power that the speaker.

Like Shaz said, the phone's sound quality is bad. I had the phone volume on the lowest setting and the sound of peoples voices were getting distorted. Rang Orange and they said it was a faulty phone. So tomorrow I'm getting a new E720. All this in less than 24 hours of recieving my phone. Other than that the phone is really nice.

in my opinion the samsung E720 os not worth getting as the camera and video work poorly in low light and the flash is only a gimmick.also the soung from the mp3s are poor quality and have a tinny sound to them even though I tried all the funtions to improve this. the volume is also not very loud when setting the mp3 for you ringtone. I got rid of my samsung E720 after just one day and compared it to the nokia 6230 it is not in the same league especially since the 6230i is out now which has far better sound and vision and also you can upgrade the memory to about 1gb

For whoever wanted to connect the USB bluetooth from their PC to the phone, you need to go to the bluetooth settings in the control panel and check the properties there for the e720. There should be a services tab after you've selected the e720 properties. You need to select the usb serial port (or something along those lines, can't quite remember) and it should be able to connect now.
Oh, and concerning other tips and tricks for the e720, holding the volume buttoms (either one of them) for a few seconds will show the wallpaper/and msgs adn missed calls, but if you hold the buttons donw again once the wallpaper has come up on the cover screen, the flash light will turn on.
Otherwise, to be honest, the phone's a bit crappy. (I get all the txting problems too and the battery life is really short if you use bluetooth frequently)

That's strange about the text input. Mine stays on what ever setting i used last time. If i used T9 on the last message, that's what i get the next time i use it. But i agree, the texting could be more user friendly.
As for the sound, well, it's not the best. If anything, mine seems a bit muffled rather than tinny. My Wife's E330 is far better.
Regarding the external display not showing missed calls. It DOES. All you have to do is press and hold the VOLUME UP or DOWN side key. It will then show the number of missed calls without having to open it up. If the clock or your choice of screen saver appears, you know there are no missed calls.
The manual does not explain this. I keep experimenting with it, as I feel there will be many more tricks to be found.
The 720 is generally a good phone with lots of toys, but it's not without it's faults. There again, you can look at any of the opinions and reviews on any make and model of phone, and you will find problems and faults with them. You have to play the bad points off against the good ones, and there are quite a few good ones with the this phone.
Like anything new, it takes a little time to get used to things. I think after a few weeks all the complaints i have now will disappear, i hope!!

Hi all,
Bought an E720 SIM Free in the UK and am using it on O2 and am getting VERY bad call quality out of it.
Have had it swapped but no change, the sound quality is very tinny and echoy and also it sounds like the other person is shouting into the phone, anyone had this problem?
Have used 2 other networks sim cards in it and same problem.
Paul.

I totally agree about the texting not being user friendly. My phone does not default to predictive text which is a real pain.. Also just to send to one person you have to go through loads of menus to select them. I just want to text and send as one easy option!
