How do you know you should do the 3-4 first charges 14-16 hours? Couldn't find it anywhere in the manual + I've already done "full" charge once since I bought it, can I still charge the next 3 times 14-16 hours and increase the battery life as you suggested?

I checked the E730 yesterday at the store but I'm not happy with the soft-black plastic. Is there any other color or finish available?

Hi all. Just 1 general question: Can you listen to mp3s/radio on this using a different set of headphones (eg sony) or does it have to be a specific pair which comes with the phone? Thanks.

so far i am satisfied with the phone... just had some few aspects that made me wish i had in this phone like: a wav tone as a msg alert, a louder ringtone volume which would exceed upto level 10, a louder speaker sound when the mp3 plays, a zoom option for downloaded files via blutooth, and a speaker phone while chatting with some friends without having to flip my phone and get it near to my ear.
it is also a fact that the keypad lights are heating up... u can use it as a heater when your fingers are chilling.... hahaha!
so far i'll give this a 90 percent rate! and oh! i bought this phone cheaper here in the philippines... for only $303 u.s. dollars... as of today october 2005

Battery life is dependent on several factors, such as the temperature, network type, surrounding terrain, ring tone selected, images, screen saver, etc.
Even though the battery icon indicates that the battery is completely charged after an hour of charging, it does signify that the battery is charged to its full capacity. The first 3-4 initial charges should be between 14-16 hours to subseqeuntly maximize the battery potential.
During the first 3-4 initial charges, the battery should be completely discharged prior to charging. After the initial charges, the battery can be continuously charged without having been previously discharged.

you said charge it 14 hours 3 times? How is that possible when it says it's done charging after like 1 hour? :(

No. It doesnt support WAV files..I tried to load one but it ddnt recognize the file. It is automatically saved to "Other Files" which you can't open.

just wonderin if someone could help me to try load MP3s onto my samsung E730. I am able to bluetooth songs from other phones but cant seem to get songs from my computer to my phone. I plug it in with the usb cable but the PIM and file manager 2.0 i cant figure out how to get them on. other then that its a great phone! plz reply someone!!

To all of you who have not yet decided, this IS the phone to own. Not only does it have a good, sleek design and size..its got everything a smart, adventurous, techie and cool person would want to have. I have never seen a phone with all the features i want at one time. Now i know that nokia is going down...;)

Facts about E730 :
The camera is better than Nokia 6630 (1280 X 960), E730 has 1280 X 1024..but u can hardly notice the differnce, the good thing about Nokia 6630, which i previously owned, is that u can view the picture in full screen..
Battery life is 2-3 days in normal usage..it drains fast if u use multimedia functions such as MP3, Radio, & camera..Tips on how to prolong your battery life : 1. Deactivate the external screen 2. Put the network service in 900/1800 mode rather than Tri-band. 3. Don't put your cellphone in a magnetized rubber casing, it will ruin your battery so fast..
Playing MP3 in the earpiece is loud, it can compete with Motorola E398 but the latter is stereo. It's louder than K750i/W800. Sound is the headset is fantastic, though K750i should sound better bcoz of a quality headset provided.
Reception is great. The loudspeaker is okay (just press the middle button when the call is in progress).
Bluetooth, alarm, radio, video all work as they should.
The best clamshell phone in the market today.
